Crytek USA, which is made up of Vigil team members Crytek picked up during the THQ auction, is working with the main development team of Ryse: Son of Rome. This is according to producer Mike Read, speaking with Siliconera. Crytek USA, which consists of around 30 staffers, is also working on its own “things,” but Read wasn’t able to offer up any information on to what it could be. Ryse: Son of Rome is an Xbox One exclusive slated for release in November.

Although Crytek is not interested in making a new Darksiders game, they did pick up a number of developer Vigil’s staff members to form the studio Crytek USA studio when all that stuff with THQ went down. And now they’re looking to buy the rights to the franchise, because, well, if somebody is going to have them it might as well be the people who made it.

Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli has shed new light on the deal it struck with Darksiders developer Vigil developer games, and has expressed surprise that nobody bid on the studio during last months THQ auction. Although the team is free to pursue any project they wish – as the newly re-branded Crytek USA – Darksiders 3 will not be its first project.

THQ president Jason Rubin has said the firm’s remaining assets, which include its back catalog of titles, are to be sold off “in the coming weeks” as part of the Chapter 11 process. Meanwhile, the firm’s former president, Danny Bilson has commented on the sale of THQ’s IP and studios.

Darksiders 2 has been patched on PlayStation 3 to remove a number of frustrating bugs and crashes. The update should be automatically applied next time you fire up the game while connected to the PlayStation network, so if you stepped away from the game over a glitch then it is time to head on back. Darksiders 2 on PC is missing a few options which are part and parcel with most PC games, according to those who’ve picked it up. Fortunately, Vigil is aware of the issue and doing what it can to fix the option issue as well as reported glitching issues.

MTV Multiplayer reports Death will appear in a two-minute promo as part of a marathon special airing on the Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim.
