Twitter/Facebook/Last.fm XBL preview invites going out Friday

Microsoft’s Major Nelson has sent word (via Twitter, naturally) that invites for the New Social Networking Experience preview program will be along shortly.
“The preview schedule: We close sign ups later today and (if all goes well) send first wave of notification emails Friday,” he said.

DSi Facebook update also fights piracy

Like a mild-mannered Joe Everyman who suits up and fights crime by the moonlight, the recent Nintendo DSi Facebook Connect update does more than advertised. In addition to plastering Facebook with embarassing snapshots of you and your friends, it renders many DS flashcarts useless, reports MCV.
iPlayer, EZVi, and AK2I are among those thwarted by the Facebook-clad crusader, meaning that illegally downloaded games will no longer function in conjunction with them.

GDC: Giant update to Home beta next week, says Sony
According to this, Sony’s going to make a major update to the Home beta next week, including changes to the UI, the graphics engine, the addition of the Marketplace building, the first look at game-launching and a resolution bump (back) up to 1080p.
There’s absolutely loads of stuff through that link. There’s no set release date for the online PS3 service yet, but it sounds like it can’t be that far off. Definitely take a look.
