Uncharted 2 walked off with Best Action Game at the BAFTA awards this evening, beating out Assassin’s Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Modern Warefare 2, inFamous, and Left 4 Dead 2.

It also took the awards for Use of Audio, Original Score and Story. It’s up for nine awards tonight.

Earlier in the month when January’s NPD’s were revealed, SCEA’s Jack Tretton mentioned that Uncharted 2 had almost reached the 3 million units sold mark.

Well, now it has surpassed that grand figure, having moved over 3.5 million units worldwide.

A Sony representative demoing Heavy Rain at CES has stated that “graphically” the game “blows Uncharted 2 away”.

Naughty Dog’s Evan Wells has said the firm will not be developing Uncharted-style with PS3 motion controls any time soon.

Instead, he said that he’d rather create a game designed specifically for the system.

Naughty Dog’s going to fiddle with Uncharted 2 multiplayer this weekend, dropping all health by 65 percent, the same as in Crushing difficulty.

“This weekend we are instituting a Plunder Only playlist based on the overwhelming feedback and we’re making one other (temporary) change as well,” said the firm on its site.

“Rather than add two new playlists at once we are going to try an experiment. For this Experimental Weekend only, player health in ALL game types will be lowered to 65% of the current player health. This is exactly the same as the Crushing settings, only Boosters will still be allowed.”

Looks like the Uncharted 2 DLC that was tweeted earlier will be released on Friday, along with a Double Cash Weekend.

It’s a new multiplayer mode called The Fort, which is based on the Fortress chapter of Drake’s Fortune.

According to Naughty Dog, it’s a “long rectangular map with wide open spaces and excellent flank routes” with tunnels leading into the basement, a shotgun in the center of the map, and an RPG to the side room in the crypt.

A couple new features were also added to the Multiplayer menu: Leaderboards and a player card.

But wait, there’s more:

When you join a competitive Multiplayer match on Thanksgiving weekend, you’ll be greeted with a slightly different look to our Heroes and Villians. It looks like Drake and Lazarevic had a few too many helpings of turkey (or Tofurkey), green bean casserole and, most definitely, sweet potato casserole.

We also flipped a few switches and bits here and there and not only is Double Cash weekend back, but you’ll be getting 2x the cash from any and all medals you are awarded during the course of a competitive or cooperative match. The per-match limits of $50,000 are still in effect, so if you’re just that good, you’ll be maxing out just about all the time.

Naughty Dog’s planning to do something multiplay-wise in Uncharted 2 this week, as tweeted here.

“Things are looking up that we’re going to have something quite awesome lined up for multiplayer at the end of this week,” said the dev.

“Quite” awesome? That’s a bit rubbish. Shouldn’t it be “AMAZINGLY AWESOME”? Sort it out, Naughty Dog.

No, we’ve no idea what it is.

Sony’s confirmed to VG247 that Uncharted 2 has sold 1 million copies to date.

A tweet from Geoff Keighley broke the news earlier.

An SCEA spokesperson told us that as of last week, the title has “sold 1 million units worldwide”.

NPDs are out tonight, so check back with us later this evening, when we’ll be posting all the numbers hot off the presses.

Those who preorder LittleBigPlanet for PSP from GameStop will get a bonus consisting of six outfits based on PlayStation franchises.

These include two costumes each from Uncharted 2, Killzone and MotorStorm.

Order in-store and you will get a download card, order online and you’ll get the code through email.

No word on whether these outfits are a GameStop exclusive or not, but one of the costumes for Killzone is a tank. You like tanks.

Update: Uncharted 2 has a mandatory update at the ready, which fixes different things, but there is also the Double Cash Weekend which starts today and lasts until November 2. In every match during this weekend, you’ll be getting twice the Cash award you normally would for completing typical game actions online.

Naughty Dog devs will also be playing, and they ask that you “free to say hi, ask any questions or shoot at our characters”. Also, there might be “something spooky around the next corner”.

While it appears to be Skelzors from the Wrecked Train map, who knows what the developer has in store for players. It’s all a bit of speculation at this point.

As if there were any doubt, Naughty Dog officially has a hit on its hands in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Speaking with IndustryGamers, Naughty Dog Creative Director Amy Hennig said that Nathan Drake’s latest caper is breaking new ground on the sales charts.

“I would definitely say it’s exceeding expectations,” she said. “Being in the industry for a while you learn to try to manage your expectations because you’d rather be surprised with good news than disappointed. It’s a tough business, but from the early numbers I’ve seen getting reported back it’s exceeded any estimates we had internally, and it’s certainly outsold the first game by many, many times. That and the critical reception so far has been really gratifying.”

Hennig also added that we can expect our first helping of Uncharted 2 DLC before the year’s out.

“Without going into specifics, it’ll involve new maps, new characters, things like that. Some of it will be free of charge and some of it will be purchasable. We’ve got a lot of people on the team working on this stuff, some really cool stuff that people will be excited about,” she explained.

FIFA 10′s sold “comfortably” more than 1 million units in the UK in three weeks, Chart-Track said today.

The game beat FIFA 09 to the million milestone by three weeks.

As reported earlier, FIFA 10 managed to hold off Uncharted 2′s launch last week to to keep hold of its top chart slot.

Sony and Naughty Dog are  handing out the Uncharted 2 Fortune Hunter Edition again this weekend.

Well, the weekend is here and 30 of these limited editions will be randomly handed out to those who play online.
