Class-action suit filed against THQ over uDraw Tablet
A class-action complaint filed against THQ with the US District Court for the Central District of California on behalf of shareholders by shareholder rights firm Robbins Umeda LLP, claims the firm misled its shareholders by misrepresenting or withholding critical sales information regarding the uDraw Tablet. The complaint charges THQ and some of its officers and directors with violating the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 during the period of May 3, 2011 to February 3, 2012 where the complaint states THQ provided “materially false and misleading” statements regarding the failed peripheral and that it “failed to disclose adverse facts” regarding the product line. The suit seeks “to recover damages on behalf of all purchasers of THQ common stock during the Class Period,” states the report on GI International.

THQ hopes to sell through remaining uDraw tablets
A you may recall, the HD version of THQ’s uDraw was pinpointed as a major contributor to the publisher’s sudden financial collapse. Speaking to Polygon, new president Jason Rubin said the remaining stock of the peripheral will be shipped to retailers; the last holiday quarter apparently cleared out quite a few of the white elephants, and Rubin expects to have sold through by the end of the year. “We won’t be burying these in the desert,” he joked.

THQ lets go 30 from uDraw team
THQ’s confirmed in the US overnight its laid off 30 members from the Play THQ brand that supports uDraw, with unit leader Martin Good also departing the company.

THQ lowers Q3 expectations by 25% due to weak uDraw sales on 360 and PS3
THQ has updated its outlook for Q3 2012 ending December 31 by 25%, due to lower than expected sales of its uDraw tablet for PS3 and Xbox 360.

THQ’s Martin Good has said the firm isn’t too surprised over Wii U’s controller, because THQ released a similar peripheral last season called uDraw.
