Rumour – I Am Alive gets a 2011 release

Oh dear.
If you were praying I Am Alive was coming next year, you may wanna question your faith. According to the CV of the game’s senior designer, Charles Gaudron, it won’t be coming till 2011.
The news comes after Ubisoft delayed several of its core titles a couple of weeks ago, including the highly-anticipated Splinter Cell: Conviction.
With this I Am Alive news, the delay earlier this month and the survival game switching studios from Darkworks to the company’s Shanghai studio, things aren’t looking happy campers on Planet Ubisoft at the moment.
From superannuation.

We’re following BioWare’s KOTOR example, says EndWar boss
Ubisoft Shanghai creative director Michael de Plater has told VG247 that his team’s take on RTS with EndWar follows a path BioWare forged with Knights of the Old Republic and the RPG genre, in that his franchise will lead on console before making its way to PC.
“It’s not that we don’t want to do a PC version, and it’s not that it wouldn’t be a good PC game,” he said, when asked why EndWar wasn’t leading on PC, as was traditional in the RTS field.
“I think that really we’re kind of following in the footsteps of BioWare in regards to what they did on RPGs with Knights of the Old Republic, where they had their PC background and experience with Neverwinter Nights and other RPGs, then when they did Knights of the old Republic they shifted the camera down, used their control scheme, made it much more cinematic and used the Star Wars license…
“And then subsequent to that, they could do Knights of the Old Republic on PC and it’s no problem.”
He added: “We’ve basically followed their model.”
De Plater also told us that the game had been pushed back on PC largely thanks to piracy concerns.
EndWar ships for 360 and PS3 on November 7.
