The Secret World: Issue #6 – The Last Train to Cairo releasing in early March
The Secret World: Issue #6 – The Last Train to Cairo, will take place in Egypt, and has players travelling back in time to “unearth powerful artifacts” and to uncover the “ultimate purpose” of the Atenists and their prophet, according to Funcom.

The Secret World’s getting a group finder tool with next week’s update
The Secret World’s group finder tool will launch with the Digging Deeper update next week, Funcom has announced. Players will be able to team up with others from any Dimension anywhere in the world for any playfield or dungeon in the game. When harder difficulties like Elite and Nightmare are unlocked, these will also become available as options in the Group Finder tool. Funcom has explained how to go about using the tool on the official website. Issue 2: Digging Deeper launches for The Secret World on September 11.

The Secret World update Digging Deeper delayed into September
The Secret World Issue #2: Digging Deeper, has been delayed into September, according to Funcom. Originally set to launch next week on August 28, the studio said it delayed the release in order to give the team more time on finishing it up. The delay was caused by recent redundancies and cost reductions after the MMO’s launch, which the firm said “naturally affected the production schedule as work on readjusting the team and our internal development processes,” continues. Digging Deeper will now release on September 11.

The Secret World – next update coming later this month
The Secret World’s getting new story missions, two new Nightmare Mode dungeons and a rocket launcher this month, via an update from Funcom. Players can travel to Ockham’s Razor in London in order to give their character’s a new look, and somewhere in the bowels of Brooklyn, the infamous Dr Anton Aldini is up to something creepy. Wonder what it could be? The Secret World players will find out come August 28.

The Secret World purchase nets free points for trial participants
Funcom is offering 1,200 free points to anybody who took part in last weekend’s free trial and subsequently purchases the full game before August 12. The points are redeemable for a variety of vanity items which, if you’ve run around the MMORPG for any length of time, you’ll soon be hankering for; Pat nearly fired me for having a better outfit than his Harry Potter look-alike. The Secret World is just over one month old and has released the first of planned monthly updates.

The Secret World – remember, it’s free this weekend
For those who’ve yet to try out Funcom’s The Secret World, remember, you can try it for free this weekend. It’s to celebrate the MMO’s first month anniversary, and you’ll be able to participate in events, play around with fireworks and rewards for completing special missions will be handed out. If you tired out the beta, you can log-in using those credentials, but you don’t need and account to play. Events will take place, fireworks and rewards for completing missions will be handed out, and more. Latest The Secret World developer diary touches upon freedom progression
Funcom has released a new developer diary for The Secret World in which lead designer Martin Bruusgaard and lead content designer Joel Bylos discuss what makes the MMO’s classless system unique. The dup also outline how to develop a own unique character through this “imaginative and strong” RPG system which is also without levels. The Secret World is out on June 19.

The Secret World open beta may possibly go live before Christmas
Funcom has said that while it’s too soon to give an exact date, it hopes to launch the open beta for The Secret World fairly soon. According to an interview with Funcom Canada CEO Miguel Caron (posted below), the firm is looking at around “Christmas” for the next beta phase, but it may come afterward. Back in August, the firm announced that 500,000 had signed up for closed beta, so hopefully it’s only a matter of a month or so before the doors are flung wide. Funcom releases beta recruitment video for The Secret World
Funcom were supposed to open up beta registrations for The Secret World yesterday, and while the folks over there are looking into why you can’t sign up – you should still head on over and enter your email in the box for updates on the “secret war”. Hopefully,the issue will be fixed soon, and you will be chosen to represent whichever faction you choose. Just so you know, the Templars will best you, that’s all we’re saying.
