Overlord II video explains story, Overlord sex

Codemasters has put out a dev diary of Overlord II (after the break) explaining how Overlord sex gave rise to the sequel’s protagonist.
Honestly. There’s plenty of in-game footage there. Very swish it looks, too.

Rhianna Pratchett to script Overlord II
Codemasters has confirmed that Rhianna Pratchett is to script Overlord II.
“For a relatively new entertainment medium, it’s a sign of great progress that the industry is being recognised by the Writers’ Guild in this way. Writing for games is part alchemy, part narrative woodwork and part swimming in shark infested waters wearing ham pants, so it’s a real honour to be nominated for Overlord. The Overlord titles are fantastic creative projects and Triumph and Codemasters make a talented and supportive team who keep some of those sharks at bay,” said Pratchett.
“It’s a real pleasure to be back in the evil writing seat and taking the Overlord and the Minions to new lands and new adventures for the 2009 titles.”
The game’s out next year.

Overlord II confirmed – first details
Codemaster confirmed Overlord II overnight, this IGN report telling that the Triumph Studios-developed game will release in 2009 for 360, PS3 and PC.
From the piece:
Overlord II, “massively increases the scope of the original concept,” according to Lennart Sas, director and Overlord lead at Triumph Studios. The game introduces a new Overlord, hinted at in the final scene of Overlord: Raising Hell, for a clash between him and a Roman-inspired empire which has plans to root out all magic and take over the world. The game moves beyond the fantasy realm of the first to something closer to our own, allowing the game’s humor and satire to hit closer to home. Politics, environmental issues and more are up for parody in this game, though we wouldn’t be surprised if a fart joke or two slip in.
Along with the announcement also came news of DS and Wii Overlord games, titled Overlord Minions and Overlord Dark Legend respectively.
