End of Nations will go into phase three of its closed beta on September 7, according to Trion, Participants will be able to try out elite companies, which are basically the players own private army. The beta event will end on September 9 at 11.59pm EDT. You can still sign up for it here. The MMORTS will release on September 20.

E3 was a very busy week for all involved whether they were at the show or not. Loads of games were unveiled, peripherals, and tons more stuff happened.

MMOs were there too though, and while the majority didn’t make the front page, loads of stuff pertaining to the genre happened or is going to happen.

Trion and the Sci-Fi channel have announced plans to start work on an MMO, to be developed in conjunction with a TV series.

“This is the Holy Grail for us, without a doubt,” Dave Howe, president of the Sci Fi Channel, told the LA Times. “This is groundbreaking, and I don’t say that lightly.”

The property will be 100 years in earth’s future. Both the TV show and game will release in 2010.

“A television show that is on once a week isn’t enough,” Howe added.

“The fans today want the experience to go beyond that. For example, we can tell them that there will be an alien invasion at a certain place in the game, at a certain time, and to be there with all their friends and be ready. The outcome depends on them. And then that battle will be part of the universe in the show.”
