Trion Worlds has released its Streaming Client for RIFT which will allow players to launch the game from the patcher without having to wait for the full data download to complete. This will allow players to jump into the fray within minutes, even if the patch is large. The game’s patcher will continue download the necessary updates in the background while you play. The new client works “best on a 5MBps or better connection,” and so those who have a slower connection should let the patch complete before attempting to launch the client. An in-game download indicator will show the current status of your download, and will disappear when the client is fully updated. Get more information through the RIFT forums.
