Job listing for next Treyarch game calls for “an expert understanding of the Call of Duty universe”
Treyarch’s posted a job listing on its website and Gamasutra for the studio’s next game, calling for a multiplayer level designer with “an expert understanding of the Call of Duty game universe.” And that doesn’t sound like it’s for a Black Ops map pack. Sounds like if you put two and two together and you’ll get Treyarch doing next year’s CoD. This’ll shock the total number of 0 people.
Thanks, OXM.

Quick Quotes: Bowling on the various studios working on CoD franchise
“We’re at a state now in the Call of Duty franchise, where you have several teams working on CoD that have their own very distinct styles on what type of gameplay they deliver. And I think that’s a great thing for Call of Duty in general, especially if you’re having games come out every year. To have very distinct flavors and to have very distinct styles, it allows us to innovate in different ways and not feel forced to innovate in the same ways and build on the same interactions in the other games.” – Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling on having various studios working on the Call of Duty series.

Quick Quotes: Treyarch has nothing to do with map pack pricing
“You know, we’re on the development side, so we don’t really have much to do with the business aspect of it, but we just strive to give players the most value that we can possibly give. If you look at how many hours – in some cases, hundreds of hours – for some players of entertainment they get, I think it’s an incredible value. We’ve had three DLC map packs for the fans within about six to seven months of launch, which is a record for us. I think it’s incredible, and everyone’s really excited about the fact that we can support a game for that long and keep the fans interested.” – Black Ops multiplayer lead Dan Bunting to Gama on why map packs run 1200 MSP each.
