AMD teases new rendering tech

20130225_tressfx

AMD has begun teasing what seems to be a new rendering technology called TressFX, which will be revealed on February 26. The name and the splash art suggest something to do with hair, but AMD is calling it “a new frontier of realism in PC gaming” so it’s likely to be something with broader application. I expect a next-generation middle-ware which can be licensed by third-parties, like Nvdia’s PhysX.
