Warner Bros. has yet to cough up a press release, but several retailers have put a May 21 release date to the Wii U version of Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. The Traveller’s Tales sequel is already available on 3DS, DS, PC, PlayStation 3, Vita, Wii and Xbox 360, but had heretofore only garnered a vague northern spring or summer release date. Amazon, Best Buy and Gamestop have now provided a more solid window, at least for North America.

Screenshots for LEGO Legends of Chima: Laval’s Journey, have been released. The game is slated for release on 3DS this summer and this fall on DS, and Vita. An MMO is also in the works for the series by Traveller’s Tales on PC. A mobile version for the series was released in January.

Lego Lord of the Rings arrives for OS-X on February 21, according to Gamespot. The adorable take on Tolkien hit PC, consoles and handhelds late last year and scored some decent reviews for its effort. The single release spans the whole film trilogy and uses dialogue taken straight from the movies. The Mac version was developed by Feral Interactive, which regularly handles ports for series developer Traveller’s Tales.

Lego City: Undercover is the first Lego game from Traveller’s Tales without a license attached to it, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have personality, as this trailer more than demonstrates.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes will feature Stark tower, home to the mighty Iron Man. Developer Traveller’s Tales has discussed the tower’s design, creation and gameplay in a new video documentary.

Lego City: Undercover has received a rather funny and playful Wii U trailer, showing off some cinematics, vehicle gameplay, bar brawls, and some high-flying action above the city streets. It’s the smallest, most inoffensive take on street crime we’ve seen.

Nary a license to be seen in these new Lego City Undercover screens, and for those of us who grew up with generic bricks rather than Batmans and Star Wars and Harry Potter, this is somewhat delightful. See the new shots through the break, or check out last week’s. Lego City Undercover is expected on 3DS and Wii U in the first quarter of 2013.

LEGO The Lord of the Rings launches today in the US, and it appears some of the Xbox 360 copies at GameStop contain a demo disc instead of the actual game, Game Informer reports.

LEGO Lord of the Rings is coming to the UK from November 23rd, and Warner Bros. has just fired across a batch of new gameplay and cinematic screens, showing the Fellowship trudging through snow, fighting creatures and more. LEGO The Lord of the Rings has a new developer diary available for viewing titled: The Fellowship Rises. It discusses the Fellowship’s journey across Middle-earth and how they encountered a “wide array of unforgettable characters.” LEGO The Lord of the Rings is out this fall for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, 3DS, Vita, and PC. Expand your Lego Batman 2: DC Heroes roster with a couple of DLC packs added to the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live today. The Heroes pack features Nightwing, Katana, Shazam, Zatanna and Bruce Wayne’s son, Damian Wayne, in his new role as Robin. The Villains pack adds Bizzaro, Captain Cold, Black Adam, Black Manta and Gorilla Grodd. The new characters are available in Freeplay mode. Lego Batman 2 sat at the top of the UK charts for five weeks and has proved an enduring success in the US, too.

It seems the world will never tire of having cultural icons rendered in too-cute digital LEGO blocks and judging by these shots of LEGO The Lord of the Rings from Kotaku, nor should it. While the hobbits look a little like The Beatles (if you squint), Gandalf, Gimli and co look suitably adorable-cum-cool. Hit the break for the heroic half dozen.
