We can’t claim to even begin to understand what’s going on in Final Fantasy Type-0′s latest trailer, but it sure does look pretty. In an industry that constantly strives to capture the subtle, graceful ebb and flow of goddamn explosions, Square Enix’s CG department deserves a gold medal. That will self-destruct in ten seconds. There are also some story and battle bits in there, the latter of which gives us flashbacks to Crisis Core – in a good way. Check out the full thing after the break. Silicon Knights has put out a new trailer of its upcoming mutant-flavored hack ‘n’ slash ‘n’ bash ‘n’ mash ‘n’ eye laser, and it’s shaping up to be quite a departure. New characters (who really like to stare at their hands), powers that may be the result of a bite from a radioactive rainbow, and lots of punching are the stars here – although a cameo from a few old favorites lurks toward the end. Monolith’s released a new gameplay trailer for its upcoming downloadable title Gotham City Impostors. It gives you a preview of the arsenal of weapons at your disposal as you take on the role of fake Batmen and Jokers. The game is scheduled to release in winter 2012 for PC, Xbox Live and PlayStation Network and will set you back by $15. Watch the video after the break.

Most people spend their childhoods climbing trees and avoiding the looming specter of cooties. Not us. We frolicked with large, bulbous-bellied rock people, took incredibly strict directions from fairies, and somehow created sweeping orchestral music with a tiny, obscure wind instrument. Oh, and we also played Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on occasion.

Duke Nukem’s long-overdue return may be “so 3.45723 seconds ago” for hardcore gamers, but his once-adoring public isn’t quite so in-the-know. The solution? This commercial. Or rather, an edited take on this commercial, because this version would probably require that your TV be replaced by a giant, permanent censor bar. Or, in simpler terms, strippers! Explosions! Epic’s dropped a new Bulletstorm trailer in anticipation of today’s demo, and it’s about as grim and serious as shooters come – for roughly ten seconds. Then the phrase “pucker your butthole” gets casually kicked into the conversation, and after that, it’s Bulletstorm 101.

You know the drill: bullets gleefully flying where the sun don’t shine, limbs detaching thanks to the gentle tickle of a spring breeze, and curse word usage so creative that it might have unknowingly created the next great movement in poetry.
