Star Wars: The Old Republic subscribers can now gain early access to the Galactic Starfighter expansion. The content allows players duel it out via space combat, using two teams of 12 players. Various fighter ships are available and include: Scout, Strike Fighter and Gunship. Players can also customize their ships by spending earned Requisition. A video detailing customization is below. Preferred status players will gain access on January 14 and Free players can try it out on February 4.Read over the patch notes here.

Star Wars: The Old Republic has an new, free-to-play, digital expansion coming in December, which will include PvP space battles called Galactic Starfighter. To give you an idea of what to expect from it, BioWare has released a new video as well as screenshots.

Star Wars: The Old Republic update 2.4, The Dread War, is now available. It adds new operations, and pits players against the Dread Masters in the story finale. It also adds new 4v4 Warzones, PvP Arenas, new gear, and class balance changes. Hit up the official website for patch notes.

Star Wars: The Old Republic held a cantina tour at gamescom this week, and those who attended where handed some assets of upcoming content heading to the MMO. If you head over to Dulfy.net, you can get a look at images such as concept art for the dewback mount, the planet Oricon, the F5-SC battle droid refer a friend award, the Makrin pet coming to the Cartel Market and more. BioWare has a launched a new incentive for Star Wars: The Old Republic, in which subscribers will earn a Battle Droid pet, Cartel Coins, and the Kurtob Alliance Speeder if they get a friend to sign up or return to the game. The referred friend also gets a few perks: new subs receive the Jumpstart Bundle for faster levelling; previous subs receive seven days of subscription access, one Complimentary Character Transfer for the lifetime of the account, and the Preferred Friends Bundle with special convenience and customization unlocks. Bioware has updated SWTOR by adding a Nightmare Mode to Legions of Scum and Villainy, via Update 2.2.2. You can check it out in the video below and read more on it through the official update. The team is also teasing more on its Game Update 2.3, Titans of Industry, through a game page update regarding the Czerka Corporation. There’s not much on it at the moment, but enough to whet your appetite a bit.

SWTOR update 2.3 is live on the public test servers, and according to Bioware, one of the perks of the update will be an Ewok combat companion. Dulfy.net has the low-down on the furry fella, and in order to make use of his services, you’ll need to have a level 40 legacy and a million credits. The teddy bear critter also sports heavy armor and can make use of heal and tank stances. Stats and a cutscene featuring the Endorian through the link. The ancient Gree starship, Gray Secant, is returning to Ilum May 21-28, and will provide SWTOR players with some nifty rewards such as unique armor, pets, weapons, and the like. Players will earn Reputation points has they “fight the Gree’s grand mission,” and players level 45 and over can jump into the event before it returns at level 55 in the future. Bioware has released a SWTOR video giving you a better look at the new customization options which launched today with update 2.1. You were given a slight glimpse last week, now set your eyes on the video below which shows off the Appearance Designer in action. And don’t forget about the new playable Cathar species either.

SWTOR game update 2.0 went live today, and Bioware has released a new video rife with the Legions of Scum and Villainy. The later is a level 55 operation, and contains various, vicious enemies you’ll face on the planet Darvannis. The video also give you a look at the new Legacy Achievements system. The game update went live yesterday alongside early access to Rise of the Hutt Cartel, along with guild rewards such as a stackable 5% boost to experience. Hit up the video below.

Today, though, we have for your consideration a video discussing the planet, which is to be included in the Rise of the Hutt Cartel, the MMO’s first digital expansion. Hit up the break for a watch. SWTOR’s latest developer blog has been posted, and it provides plenty of details on Update 1.5 – specifically missions pertaining to Section X and HK-51. There’s also plenty of spoilers for character’s in-game storylines, but thankfully players can avoid those by not logging in; thus avoiding anything spolieriffic. SWTOR has a new developer dispatch video available which discusses some of the new content coming with Game Update 1.5: HK-51 Activated. In the video, members of the development team outline some of the missions present in the new Section X area on Belsavis, how players will search the galaxies for clues in order to unlock the HK-51 Companion as their very own Assassin Droid, and more. There’s also a look the final pieces of the Dread Guard gear set and a rare new mount earned by taking on Operation: Explosive Conflict in Nightmare Mode.
