Deadline has reported that Paramount is in talks regarding a film version of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, although when asked, the studio declined comment. According to the report, Ubisoft “will be very involved and retain control over how the game is translated into a film.” Earlier reports indicated Warner was a front runner, but it appears Paramount is the safe bet. Ubisoft has released a trailer for its movie short Ghost Recon: Alpha. It’s posted below along with a set of screenshots. The full film will be available to the public on Monday May 14 via Ubisoft’s YouTube channel. The film was shown earlier in the month via Lovefilm and on G4, and a DVD Blu-ray combo pack lands in stores on May 22 for $14.95 and as a standalone DVD for $7.95. A code to unlock and exclusive weapon in the Xbox 360 version of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is hidden in the film. Future Soldier launches on May 25 for PS3 and 360 and on June 12 for PC.

Ubisoft has patched the Splinter Cell Trilogy HD on PS3 to add inverted aim support after enough players informed the developer that it would be nice to have options pertaining to y-axis alignment. The firm has told Eurogamer the patch is only available for the PSN version at the moment, but one for the retail version is “coming soon.” The Splinter Cell HD Collection was released back in September.

Microsoft has added GRAW and Splinter Cell: Double Agent to the Games on Demand Service on Xbox Live.
Both games are now available for downloading in the UK but the US does not get Double Agent, apparently, according to the “available regions”.
GRAW will run $29.99 and DA £19.99, so click here to have a look.
