Toki Tori 2 will be released on Wii U on April 4, Two Tribes has announced. The firm said the title is still in “the hands of Nintendo’s certification team,” and while normally a release date would be provided once it passed certification, the team said it is “confident it’ll pass in time.” Check out the new trailer for the game below.

The previously slated Wii U eShope release date for Toki Tori 2 of 20 December has been cancelled with early 2013 given as a tentative new release period.

Toki Tori 2 has been given a Wii U release date by Two Tribes, and those who pick up the new Nintendo console can expect the game to land on the eShop December 20. The developers also announced that the game will be released on Steam once the Wii U versions is launched. Thanks, D’toid.

Wii U’s GamePad design used to be more ‘toy-like’ according to Toki Tori 2 developer Two Tribes. The studio has expressed relief that Nintendo listened to its developers and changed the controller.

Two Tribes has sent over a batch of lovely screenshots for Toki Tori 2, the firm’s new puzzle-platform-adventure game. The game, which has been in development since mid-2011, is slated for release later this year on Steam. Versions for iOS and Wii U are expected to follow shortly thereafter.
