Witcher 2 pre-orders hit 111,842, Polish edition pre-orders maxed
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is out next week, and CD Projekt RED has sent word that pre-orders for the saucy RPG have reached the 111,842 mark.

CD Projekt considering expansions for Witcher 2 instead of traditional DLC
The Witcher 2′s senior producer, Tomasz Gop, has said that the developer plans on releasing future content for Assassins of Kings, but for the moment, the firm is laser focused on getting the game out the door first.

No more IP location detection for GOG.com purchases
In news sure to please Australian gamers (and others around the world), the “dashing digital download dudes” at GOG.com are no longer determining customer locations by IP address, as part of an overhaul of the site’s privacy policy.

The countdown to the launch of The Witcher 2 is starting to reach a frenzy, at least in our household. If getting to run around in Geralt’s footsteps again isn’t enough to hold your interest, and the fact that Triss was on the cover of the Polish Playboy didn’t do it for you, maybe new screeshots featuring more ladies in great lighting will do the trick. If not, you are a lost cause, and we no longer wish to speak with you.

The Classifications Board has allowed The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings to be released in Australia, after a hasty edit removed a reference to sexual rewards.

Witcher 2 video shows opening sequences, combat
GameTrailers just posted the latest Witcher 2 dev diary as an exclusive, showing off the RPG’s combat. There are plot spoilers in here, as the movie shows the game’s opening section, so don’t watch if you want the stay pure. Assuming you don’t, this looks lovely. It’s out May 17 for PC.

CD Projekt details Witcher 2 DRM usage on non-GoG versions
During its streaming press conference today, CD Projekt announced that while the GoG.com version of The Witcher 2 will still be DRM free, other copies will contain a DRM. But it’s not as evasive as it sounds.
