Nintendo of America’s translated into English the presentation given by Shigeru Miyamoto for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword at Nintendo’s recent pre-TGS event for 3DS. You’ll see the 25th anniversary video running from Skyward’s graphics at the beginning before Miyamoto shows off the game for a couple of minutes or so. Get it after the break, via Siliconera.

In a video clip posted below, the opening intro to The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is shown. Below that, is another video featuring Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata and Shigeru Miyamoto chatting about Zelda’s development costs. Miyamoto said in it he is unsure whether the amount spent on the game is the most ever for a Nintendo title or not, but it still cost quit a few purple rupees. Sadly, the video has not been translated into English yet, but there’s some gameplay footage shown in the interview between the two industry vets. Thanks, Andirasang.

The Legend of Zelda is a whopping 25 years old this year, and Nintendo is going the full nine yards in promoting the history of the series while also gearing up for the launch of Skyward Sword, the newest in the series and arguably the Wii’s swansong title.

As part of its exclusive, month long coverage of he Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, GameInformer has posted several screenshots from the game, featuring: Silent Realm, the World Above The Clouds, the Eldin Volcano and Fire Temple locations, and even a bit of dowsing. Game Informer’s announced tonight that its next cover for the magazine’s new issue will be The Legend of Zelda. The magazine will take a look back at the series’ 25 years to date, as well as promising a ten page hands-on preview of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for Wii. The mag will also preview Skyrim, Quantum Conundrum, Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3 and “an intriguing new game from EA,” although it isn’t specifically named. More details here.

Nintendo’s set to bring The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword to gamescom in a couple of weeks time. According to GoNintendo, most other games that were at E3 will also be in Cologne in a couple of weeks. Ocarina of Time 3D will also be there for those still yet to buy it. For the first 100+ attendees, you’ll also get limited edition t-shirts. There’s more details on the company’s show at the link. Nintendo will be in Hall 8.1, B20/A21 inside the Koelnmesse.

Nintendo’s released a brand new Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword trailer, showing new the first new footage of the game since E3. It shows Link and Princess Zelda flying off together before something happens and Zelda gets taken by a whale-like thing. Go big whale thing, etc. There’s new gameplay in there as well.
