Shots from Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us have surfaced over on AGB. We’re assuming since Game Informer has month-long coverage of the game, the shots came from the outlet. It’s hard to know, considering AGB doesn’t list the source, and the shots are without a watermark. But they are posted below anyway. If they are actual scans, which is how we’re leaning, we’ll remove the shots if asked and just leave the link. The Last of Us will be released sometime in late 2012 or early 2013 on PS3.

Sony has released a making-of video showing the work that went into creating the announcement trailer for Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us. Posted below the break, you’ll see actors Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson suit up in mo-cap garb as they take on their respective roles of Joel and Ellie. The Last of Us launches next year on PS3.

New IP The Last of Us is expected to launch next year for PS3.

Edge has promised a cover story for The Last of Us as part of its February issue, due next week. The mag, which features new artwork not seen before, will have an “in-depth” preview of the upcoming new Naughty Dog action IP. Also promised are features on Plants vs Zombies, Zen Pinball dev Zen Studios, reviews of Soul Calibur V, Resident Evil: Revelations and previews of Ridge Racer: Unbounded, Binary Domain and The Darkness II.

The issue’s out next Wednesday.

The first shows main duo Joel and Ellie travelling on the outskirts of a city – we’re going to guess San Francisco – with the second showing the pair laughing around a campfire. The Last of Us rollercoaster keeps on going: Naughty Dog’s confirmed it’s bringing two new avatars featuring main characters Joel and Ellie to the PS Store, with a dynamic theme and a HD version of the trailer that aired at the VGAs also set to drop. More details on ND’s website here.

The Last of Us is due to arrive late 2012 or early 2013 for PS3.

Viacom appears to have gone on some sort of YouTube copyright infringement rampage, with the result that a huge number of videos related to the VGAs have been pulled. One of these is the official trailer for The Last of Us, hosted on the game’s own YouTube channel, resulting in a copyright infringement notice smack in the middle of its own website. Whoops. Sony told Kotaku it hopes to have the matter resolved shortly.

Naughty Dog has said the inspiration for the fungus affecting the human population in The Last of Us, was inspired by the Cordyceps fungi showing in BBC’s Planet Earth series, meaning the title is most definitely not a “zombie game.”
