The Hobbit: Armies of the Third Age now available for browsers, Facebook
The Hobbit: Armies of the Third Age for web browsers has launched on Facebook and other web-based platforms. The free-to-play tactical combat game inspired by The Hobbit film challenges players to take up arms alongside select characters such as Bilbo, Thorin, Radagast and more . Players will lead and army of Elves, Dwarves or Orcs in tactical combat as they “band together with thousands of other players to join powerful alliances and wage an epic war online.” In addition to Facebook, the game is available on Kabam.com and the Google Chrome Store. The Hobbit: Armies of the Third Age was announced last fall and was developed by Kabam and published by Warner.

Guardians of Middle-earth adds new challenger Radagast the Brown
The wizard Radagast the Brown is now available for Guardians of Middle-earth on Xbox Live and will be available on PSN soon. A trailer is posted below. This weekend, players of the MOBA will be able to compete in “The One Road” where everyone can compete for the “Most Wins on a One-Lane Map.” The event lasts until February 3, and you can win 500 XP, 20,000 Gold, and three Mithril level items. Season Pass holders are also set receive three more Guardians in the coming months, with more to come as well along with a new Survival mode.

Warner and MGM invest in The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth developer Kabam
Kabam, the developers of The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth, has secured investments from Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. and MGM Studios. The investment will see Warner Bros. Home Entertainment president Kevin Tsujihara joining Kabam’s board of directors, and Gary Barber, the CEO of MGM will also join the board as an “observer.” Kabam’s second title in the Hobbit series, Armies of the Third Age, is currently in beta and expected to be released on PC. The Hobbit strategy games heading to your browser and mobile this fall
The Hobbit is coming to your browser and mobile this fall with the release of games developed by Kabam and published by Warner Bros. Both are multiplayer strategy games based on the film. Guardians of Middle-earth MOBA game set for fall release on PSN and XBLA
Warner Bros.has announced Guardians of Middle-earth, a new MOBA game developed by Monolith and set to debut in the fall for PSN and XBLA. The game will feature tie-ins to the upcoming The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey motion picture, directed by Peter Jackson. The game allows up to 10 players to compete in 5v5 competitive multiplayer battle arenas set in Middle-earth. It offers the choice of 20 guardians, including Gandalf, Sauron, Gollum, Thráin and more for players to control in PvP matches. It will contain in-game voice chat system, online stats and a leader board system. The first trailer for the game will be unveiled on GTTV with Geoff Keighley, Thursday May 31 at 1.00am EDT during the show’s annual pre-E3 special.

Guillermo del Toro says there will not be a Hobbit game tie-in

Director Guillermo del Toro has said that there will not be a Hobbit game tie-in with the upcoming movie at launch.
“It’s too ambitious to try and tackle that along with ‘The Hobbit’, he told MTV. “We have such tight release dates.”
Guillermo says that he and Peter Jackson will have a part in the eventual game, but from a writer’s standpoint, it’s too tough to be as heavily involved in it as he’d like at this time.
