The Elder Scrolls Online lore gives Emeric’s backstory

The Elder Scrolls Online has added a new story to its collection, telling of the rise of Daggerfall Covenant ruler High King Emeric. This is the third instalment in Zenimax Online’s series, with previous episodes introducing Aldmeri Dominion queen Ayrenn and Ebonheart pack leader Jorunn the Skald King. The Elder Scrolls Online is expected in 2013 and is taking beta sign ups.

The Elder Scrolls Online fiction introduces Ayrenn

Zenimax Online has released a second short story from The Elder Scrolls Online, This one is all about Ayrenn, The Unforseen Queen, who leads the Aldmeri Dominion. This alliance of High Elves, Wood Elves and Khajiit claim an inherited right to the Ruby Throne and for all their talk of patience and selflessness don’t have any allies among the three human races. The Elder Scrolls Online begins to colour in history

Head on over to The Elder Scrolls Online to check out the first of a series of short stories introducing key characters and lore for the upcoming MMO. Today’s offering is about Jorunn the Skald-King, leader of the Ebonheart Pact which includes Argonians, Dark Elves and Nords. The story is presented as it would appear in-game, on a discoloured book; bless, they certainly take this seriously. The increasingly interesting MMORPG is due in 2013.

Zenimax Online invites all fans to name an NPC character in The Elder Scrolls Online. The Nameless Mage is part of a quest detailed in a new blog post, and whoever comes up with the best appelation will not only see their creation used in the finished MMORPG, but also score an “awesome prize pack”. Hit the previous link for details on how to enter, and not that one of the requirements is following the naming conventions of the franchise; the Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages wiki is a good place to catch up on the lore of Tamriel. The Elder Scrolls Online is expected in 2013.

The website for The Elder Scrolls Online has launched, Bethesda has announced. The firm said the site will be regularly updated with new features, developer diaries, screenshots, art, and more of what you would expect. An introduction to the main story has been posted, a developer diary discussing the Future of the Past in The Elder Scrolls, as well as a comparison piece showing locations from previous Elder Scrolls games and how they will appear in TESO. Shots and artwork posted were posted Monday.

Game Informer has released a video which shows a bit of monster combat in The Elder Scrolls Online. If you are familiar with the franchise, you’ll recognize the werewolves, daedra, and vampires. Nice. The video also features the game’s creature combat designer and lead gameplay designer discussing which nasty creatures from the series will be returning and where they will be located.
