BattleBlock Theater releasing next month on XBLA
BattleBlock Theater will release on April 3, according to the latest trailer from The Behemoth. It will be made available through Xbox Live for 1200 MS Points ($15) and it will be full of technologically evil cats – as if there were any other kind – friendship, betrayal, “co-optional justice, and several other forms of visual and audible stimulation,” says the firm. We’ve been looking forward to this one for ages.

Per Joystiq, 10,000 spots are open for those who want to try the tester, and who have an Xbox 360 with an Internet connection. Battleblock Theater closed beta registrations are now open
The Behemoth Studios has announced a closed beta for Battleblock Theater. The beta for the multiplayer platformer will be open to 10,000 registrants, with testing to take place somewhere between February and March 2013. Participants must own “a working Xbox 360 that has a reliable internet connection,” and have an XBL Gold account. Other rules, restrictions and required reading apply. Castle Crashers coming to PC
Castle Crashers is headed to PC at last, Kotaku reports, and we’ll have to take its word for it since The Behemoth’s own website has fallen down crying in a puddle of emo somewhere. The Newgrounds-grown favourite has proved a hit on both the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade and will presumably be just as smashing when it hits Steam on some unknown date, equipped with local and online multiplayer and integrated voice chat.

Battleblock Theater passes MS certification
The Behemoth has announced Battleblock Theater has passed Microsoft certification. Speaking with Joystiq at Comic Con, project manager Emil Ayoubkhan broke the good news. The game is about friendship, betrayal, and evil cats – which always seem to go hand-in-hand we’ve found – and was originally slated for release in 2010. According to a statement provided to VG247 from The Behemoth: “BBT does not have a release date or time frame and the correct phase that we have passed is code-complete.” So, hopefully a release date will be announced soon.

Castle Crashers prizes up for grabs in official fan fiction contest
Independent developer The Behemoth has launched a competition asking fans to pen fan fiction for its downloadable hit, Castle Crashers. Only two entries per person are allowed, with a strict 450-550 word limit, and a deadline of 5:00 PM PST May 1. Copies of the game and t-shirts are on offer for successful entries.
