The Amazing Spider-Man from Activision is coming to Vita, and it will contain the same content as the console version released in 2012, only with the controls changed around for the handheld.

The Amazing Spider-Man will release on Wii U next spring complete with all DLC and Gamepad functionality, Marvel announced during NYCC 2012. Optional motion controls will be included, and the Gamepad touchscreen can be used to navigate the in-game menu and GPS functions. Thanks, Polygon.

After making his debut on consoles back in June, The Amazing Spider-Man lands on PC today. The game from Beenox and Activision continues the plot of the film and adds a host of new Marvel villains alongside Curt Connors’ The Lizard.
Minimum PC specs include an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.6 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ processor, 3GB RAM and a NVidia GeForce 8800 GT or AMD Radeon HD4770 GPU. The Amzing Spider-Man is rated PEGI 16.

Further to Activision’s last minute dating of the console versions of The Amazing Spider-Man, StrategyInformer tells us the PC version is due to release on Steam on August 10. The Beenox-developed open world action game is out now in the US and hits Europe by the end of the week ahead of the film’s launch on July 3.

Activision has released a new video for The Amazing Spider-Man, which details the game’s web rush mechanic. According to the game’s executive producer, Brent Nicholas, web rush allows the player to slow time in order to make strategic choices regarding Spidey’s next move. Once activated, a variety of navigational and combat options can be chosen such as attacking your enemy stealthily from the shadows or just rushing in to provide a beat down.
