Dice Summit 2013 is well under way, and tonight Vegas plays host to one of the most coveted industry awards shows in the biz. Journey didn’t manage to score in all 11 categories it was nominated for, but thatgamecompany carried home eight trophies.

Thatgamecompany has announce book featuring the artwork of Journey will be released next month. Titled “The Art of Journey”, the hardcover was deigned and written by art director Matt Nava, and along with art from the game it contains information on what influenced the art direction. Sony has provided more details on its gamescom presence, starting with its press conference which kicks off at 7.00pm CET/6.00pm BST on August 14. It will be streamed live from the PlayStation Blog. A panel discussion will also take place, the topic being “games as art”, and it will include: SCWW president Shuhei Yoshida, Ian Dallas, co-founder of Giant Sparrow, Kellee Santiago, co-founder of thatgamecompany, Alex Evans, co-founder of Media Molecule, Adam Volker from Moonbot Studio, and a special guest “working on a currently unannounced project.” The panel will be streamed live as well. Gamescom runs August 15-19.

This year’s Games Developers Conference Europe has added post-mortems of CD Projekt’s, The Witcher 2, and Eskil Steenberg’s indie title, Love. Cryptic Studios will also be on hand to discuss user-generated content in MMOs. Other confirmed sessions include a post-mortem of thatgamecompany’s Journey, and Rare’s N64 classic, GoldenEye.
GDC Europe takes place in Cologne from August 13 – 15, on the eve of gamescom.

OPM has posted a shot of an advertisement culled from the August issue of the US Official PlayStation Magazine showing the contents of the Journey Compilation GameFly inadvertently outed ahead of time earlier this week. The collection, which in the ad is called the Journey Collector’s Edition, includes not only Flow, Flower, and Journey, as previously reported, but a PlayStation Plus membership trial, all three soundtracks, exclusive mini-games, documentaries and “much more”. The game is slated for August 28, with thatgamecompany confirming its existence, but Sony yet to announce anything.

A listing called the Journey Compilation has popped up on Gamefly, and set for releases on August 28. Spotted by Superannuation, thunder the PS3 game’s description it states “coming soon,” but it’s assumed to be a compilation of thatgamecompany titles Flow, Flower and Journey. Sony has yet to comment, but thatgamecompany has confirmed it’s existence, (thanks, Get_crazy) but said it was unable to provide further details at this point.

Thatgamecompany has raised $5.5 million in funding, which will allow it to start releasing games on platform’d other than Sony, its partner over the last three game releases. Co-founder and creative director Jenova Chen said the funding will allow the future creations to appear on more platforms, now that the release of Journey finished the studio’s deal with Sony. A PlayStation sizzle roll video has shown a collector’s edition of Journey is in the works. There’s no more info beside the fleeting mention in the video. Sony’s yet to announced the CE itself, but our guess is it’s a special bundle feature the game, soundtrack a little bit more. Just a hunch.
The vanilla version of thatgamecompany’s opus launched in March for PSN.

“They are not good enough for adults. For adults to enjoy something, they need to have intellectual stimulation, something that’s related to real life. Playing poker teaches you how to deceive people, and that’s relevant to real life. A headshot with a sniper rifle is not relevant to real life.
