Former art director for thatgamecompany starts new studio
Journey and Flower art director Matt Nava, has formed his own studio called Giant Squid. The former thatgamecompany staffer’s site doesn’t list any projects currently in development, but the mission statement on the site states that “artistic games that deliver beautiful, meaningful, and timeless experiences” are the plan. DICE Awards 2013: Journey scores eight gongs and GotY
Dice Summit 2013 is well under way, and tonight Vegas plays host to one of the most coveted industry awards shows in the biz. Journey didn’t manage to score in all 11 categories it was nominated for, but thatgamecompany carried home eight trophies.

The Art of Journey being released in hardcover next month
Thatgamecompany has announce book featuring the artwork of Journey will be released next month. Titled “The Art of Journey”, the hardcover was deigned and written by art director Matt Nava, and along with art from the game it contains information on what influenced the art direction.
