Final Fantasy character designer Tetsuya Nomura has told Famitsu that there’s not going to be a Final Fantasy VII remake in the near future, but we “could” see Cloud Strife in some game cameos.

Speaking in this week’s Famitsu, Final Fantasy Versus XIII director Tetsuya Nomura has said that the earliest we’re going to see his game is at E3 next June.

“We’ll gradually unveil it starting next year, at E3 if we’re quick enough,” said Nomura.

He also talked about the development video shown at the Tokyo Game Show on the game.

“That wasn’t development stuff, but a technical demo reel of sorts. We hurriedly put together a video because we wanted people be assured that Versus is also still under development.”

He also confirmed that the gameplay for the game will be similar of that to Kingdom Hearts.

“It will fall close to that category, but we’re aiming for a fusion of new features with the classic FF style. We see level design as the most important part of development here, but it’ll be a while before we can show any of that.”

It’ll release when… well, just before the end of the world. After Final Fantasy XIII anyways, exclusive to PlayStation 3.

Want to know more on that hot tattooed chick from the newest trailer of Final Fantasy XIII? You will next month anyways, according to Square’s Tetsuya Nomura.

Speaking in an interview with Famitsu at Tokyo Game Show (translated by Andriasang), the character designer of the game revealed that more info on the character will be coming within the next month.

He also hinted that there may just be more new characters revealed between now and the game’s Japanese release on December 17.

Speaking in an interview with Famitsu, Final Fantasy Versus XIII director Tetsuya Nomura has revealed that gameplay tests have been carried out on the game since March this year.

The news comes as footage from one of the tests was shown at a secret theatre for anyone who played Final Fantasy XIII or Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep at TGS this past weekend.

That’s despite Nomura saying a couple of weeks back that the game wouldn’t be at the event. The footage shown wont be in the final game.

Nomura also revealed that the character model of main character Noctis is finalised.

Wanna know more on the newest Kingdom Hearts game? Play to the end of Birth by Sleep for the PSP, according to creator of Kingdom Hearts Tetsuya Nomura.

Speaking in the latest issue of Famitsu, Nomura reveals that Birth by Sleep will contain a secret video in the game, which will quite possibly reveal the next Kingdom Hearts game.

“I think there are a lot of puzzling elements, so maybe they’ll want to play the next game…And there’ll be a secret movie too.”

Despite being jabbed if it was Kingdom Hearts III or not, Nomura refused to answer if it was or not.

“The next game will be the next game (laughs)”

Birth by Sleep is out this Winter for the PSP in Japan. As for Kingdom Hearts III, we reckon it’ll involve Spiderman now, innit?

Final Fantasy Versus XIII director Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed in the latest issue of Famitsu that the game won’t show up at TGS – taking place between September 24-27 – in any form. No new trailers, no new screens, no new art.

Nothing. But why?

Square Enix has decided to showcase 2009′s games at the Japanese event, rather than those releasing in the New Year.

Final Fantasy XIII will be seen in Tokyo, as will Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep for the PSP and the international version of Dissidia: Final Fantasy for the PSP.

Final Fantasy Agito XIII and The Third Birthday, both on the PSP, will join FF Versus XIII as no-shows next month.

Kingdom Hearts creator and producer, Tetsuya Nomura, has said that the idea of the game did not appeal to him at first, and Sora carried a chainsaw as a weapon originally.

Seriously.

“Square wanted to make a game starring Mickey Mouse, and Disney wanted a Donald Duck title. Meanwhile, I wanted neither,” he told Famitsu.

“The first weapon I showed Disney was a chainsaw. It was this chainsaw-like weapon that I had a rough sketch of when I first showed my concepts to Disney. Everyone got this scrunched-up look on their face and nobody said a word in the entire room.

“Dead silence. And I thought ‘No, I guess this wouldn’t work, huh?’”

Neato.
