An Elder Scrolls Online video, which features the Oblivion plane of Coldharbour ruled by Daedric Prince Molag Bal, the God of Schemes, is below. The video also takes a look at some of the realm’s inhabitants. The Elder Scrolls Online is expected to launch this year and will be playable at Gamescom in August.

The Elder Scrolls Online will be playable at Gamescom in August, ZeniMax Online has announced. It’s presence will allow “thousands” the opportunity to play the MMO at Bethesda’s booth. Gamescom runs August 22-25 in Cologne, Germany, and to grab your tickets to the event, head over to the official website.

Zenimax Online has issued another round of beta invites for The Elder Scrolls Online. If you registered to test the upcoming MMORPG, be sure to check your spam folder over the next few days. This test is quite a small one, though, so don’t be too alarmed if you don’t get in this time; the developer has promised more and larger testing events over the coming months. The Elder Scrolls Online is expected to launch this year.

Many site have gone live with play impressions of The Elder Scrolls Online, and some of the information we’ve gleaned is as follows: its supports first-person gameplay; the UI is “minimalistic”; quests are instanced very subtly; and the combat will be similar to the PC versions of Skyrim or Oblivion. Bethesda has announced that later this month, it will start sending out closed beta invites The Elder Scrolls Online for those who have signed up. If you haven’t yet, now’s the time. The Elder Scrolls Online has added a new story to its collection, telling of the rise of Daggerfall Covenant ruler High King Emeric. This is the third instalment in Zenimax Online’s series, with previous episodes introducing Aldmeri Dominion queen Ayrenn and Ebonheart pack leader Jorunn the Skald King. The Elder Scrolls Online is expected in 2013 and is taking beta sign ups.

Zenimax Online has released a second short story from The Elder Scrolls Online, This one is all about Ayrenn, The Unforseen Queen, who leads the Aldmeri Dominion. This alliance of High Elves, Wood Elves and Khajiit claim an inherited right to the Ruby Throne and for all their talk of patience and selflessness don’t have any allies among the three human races. The website for The Elder Scrolls Online has launched, Bethesda has announced. The firm said the site will be regularly updated with new features, developer diaries, screenshots, art, and more of what you would expect. An introduction to the main story has been posted, a developer diary discussing the Future of the Past in The Elder Scrolls, as well as a comparison piece showing locations from previous Elder Scrolls games and how they will appear in TESO. Shots and artwork posted were posted Monday.

Game Informer has released a video which shows a bit of monster combat in The Elder Scrolls Online. If you are familiar with the franchise, you’ll recognize the werewolves, daedra, and vampires. Nice. The video also features the game’s creature combat designer and lead gameplay designer discussing which nasty creatures from the series will be returning and where they will be located. Game Informer has posted the final faction reveal for The Elder Scrolls Online, the Ebonheart Pact, which was formed by the Dunmer, Argonians, and the Nords in response to the Akaviri invasion 50 years prior.
