Rumor: Tales of Vesperia coming to Wii, per the Duke

Japanese voice actor Rikiya Koyama has leaked the possibility of Namco-Bandai porting Tales of Vesperia to Wii.
“Tales of Vesperia is coming out on one thing after another: Xbox 360, then PS3, and now upcoming, goes on sale even on the Wii,” he wrote on his blog.
“More shortly, the feature film anime version is also opening in theaters (But I’m not in it…), and after that, there’s also a CD.”
Koyama provides the voice for the Duke in the game, and while it is possible he may be getting the title mixed up with Tales of Graces of Wii, one would think someone who worked on it would know.
Then again, maybe not. We’ll have to see.

Namco thanks Japanese 360 Tales of Vesperia owners for being beta trialists to PS3 port
In the booklet for the PS3 port of the game, Tales of Vesperia developers Namco-Bandai has said thank you to the Xbox 360 owners who bought the original version for being beta trialists in the game.
These are just some of the nuggets from the booklet.
“Xbox 360 players often complained ‘why aren’t these parts voiced?’, so when making the PS3 version we first set about improving the voicing … As a result, the entire main scenario became fully voiced.”
“We’d be delighted if those who played the Xbox 360 version would play the PS3 version too. Of course the same goes for those playing for the first time.”
“We made a lot of changes we think Xbox 360 players would be sure to appreciate.”
“There are a lot of elements from the Xbox 360 version which were improved, so please give it a try.”
“Based on the feedback so kindly provided by Xbox 360 players, we added a lot of additional elements.”

Namco Bandai’s general manager, Makoto Yoshizumi, has said that the company is “thinking about” making a Tales of Vesperia 2.
“[During meetings, staff would ask ] ‘Will you be making Vesperia 2?’ [I'd] respond, ‘Don’t talk like a fan!’,” he explained to Famitsu. “It appears that [within the company] there’s a desire to make part 2.
“We’re thinking about it.”
That should make fans pretty happy.

Japanese 360 owners furious at PS3 Tales of Vesperia release, petition made
Oh no…
Japanese Xbox 360 owners have started a petition over arguments that they were test subjects in a 360 “beta release” of Tales of Vesperia: once a 360 exclusive, but now is coming to the PlayStation 3 in Japan very soon.
Some of the the demands of the petition, already signed by 550 out of a targeted 1,000, are:
“The games should not be dispersed across multiple platforms, they should be consolidated onto one platform [i.e. Xbox 360].
The games should be complete and properly made.
From now on, the porting of titles like Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Vesperia should be abolished.
An official apology should be made to Xbox 360 users for the abnormal number of additions made to Vesperia only a year after its Xbox 360 release.
That’ll be nothing compared to the PS3 fanboys lining up outside Square, when they announce FFXV as a 360 exclusive.

Tales of Vesperia for PS3, tons of other Tales stuff in Jump

The latest issue of Japan’s Jump magazine has confirmed Tales of Vesperia for PS3. Never saw that coming.
There was lots of other Tales related stuff included. And here it is:
- Tales of Graces will be released for Wii later this year. Not much else is known other than you have to protect people and you have vowed to “never lose anyone again”. Right.
- Tales of Versus will arrive on PSP with four-player fight mode. Yuri (Tales of Vesperia), Luke (Tales of the Abyss), Shing (ToH) and Richter (ToSKoR) have been revealed. Possibly Lloyd as well.
- The PS3 version of Tales of Vesperia will include a new character named Patty Fleur.
Hit the link below to see a couple scans of the magazine. Doesn’t look like an April Fool to us.
Thanks, Kombo.

Months old Tales of Vesperia demo “exclusive to OXM”
Not quite sure what’s going on here, but OXM’s claimed that it’s got the “exclusive” on the Tales of Vesperia demo for its October issue out September 4. We’re assuming this is the same demo released in Asia in June and the rest of the 360-playing world in July, but we may be wrong. We’ll get the mag this week and let you know.
