Sony survey hints at future PS Plus features
An online survey released by Sony has the firm asking participants whether they would enjoy certain additions to PS Plus. One of the survey questions was regarding whether customers who bought a game on either PS3 or PS Vita, would enjoy getting the game free for the other console. Well, yeah, who wouldn’t? What that means is if you bought “Resistance on PS Vita, you could download Resistance on PS3 for free,” the survey used as an example. Sounds like a good deal, but note this is just a survey at this point, and no means an indication Sony is planning to implement the feature just yet. The survey also mentions the possibility of a Vita version of Gran Turismo, which if the history of the series is any indication, isn’t far-fetched in the slighted. Thanks, IGN.

Study: UK developers conflicted over the future of console and PC games
A survey conducted with over 80 UK game studios by e-skills, a UK skills council for business and information technology, found 24 percent were of the opinion console gaming would decline over the next year, and 42 percent believed PC games were in regression. On the other end of the poll, 32 percent expected the console side of things would increase, with 20 percent expecting an in increase for the PC game sector. While the figures concluded are a bit discrepant from one another, 89 percent were of the opinion that the demand for social and mobile games would mount, and 88 percent believed casual gaming interest would also continue to accelerate. Of those polled, not one surveyed felt the demand for casual or mobile titles would decrease. Thanks, Develop.

Xbox Avatar retro-arcade survey “not indicative of any planning”
![]()
Microsoft has gotten back with us regarding the survey it sent out for a Xbox Live specific Arcade space complete with Avatar interaction.
According to a MS spokesperson, a survey is sometimes just that – a survey.
“We regularly conduct surveys about our products but they’re not indicative of any planning,” said the rep to VG247.
The XBL Team refused to comment on the matter.
Sounding similar to PS3’s Home arcade space, the survey asked about names for the service, and which one would compel them to purchase the product.

Microsoft survey hints at Xbox Avatar retro-arcade

A survey sent out by Microsoft hints at the possibility of a virtual Avatar arcade headed Xbox 360.
Sounding similar to PS3′s Home arcade space, the survey asks, “Which of the following names would most compel you to purchase the product?: Game Room, RetroCade, Tower of ROM, and “Classics LIVE”, among others.
With the wording “purchase the product” included in the survey, it sounds right to assume that the service will not be a free one.
We’ll throw a line out to MS and see if anyone in Redmond bites.
