Capcom: year-end profits to be half of what investors expected
Capcom has issued an insight into its year-end financial report ahead of the document’s full release. The Osaka-based company will announce that restructuring efforts have resulted in half of the profits originally projected in its previous report.

Capcom expects 14m games sold by end of FY13, Street Fighter 2 is best-selling title
Capcom posted its Q3 financial report this morning – check out my full report on the numbers here – and in a separate press release the company has predicted sales of 14 million units by the end of financial year 2013. The Japanese company has also revealed some intriguing stats for its current stock of IP.

Street Fighter x Tekken Version 2013 videos show changes to Juri, Jin, Hwoarang, Lili, and Marshall Law
Another batch of Street Fighter x Tekken Version 2013 update videos have been released by Capcom Fighters over on Capcom Unity. The videos show off some of the changes coming to Juri, Jin, Hwoarang, Lili, and Marshall Law. The patch is expected to go live in four days on January 29, so be on the look out for the official patch notes. Until then, you can look over the list of changes complied by players through here.

Street Fighter x Mega Man V2 patch is live with a buffed M Bison
As promised earlier in the week, and update for Street Fighter x Mega Man is now available. You can head through here to get the free download. Along with improved controller support, the update fixes a tank glitch, adds the ability to take screenshots, contains a new hidden character, and M Bison has been “buffed a bit.” You can look over the entire contents of the update through Capcom Unity. Street Fighter Alienware tournament final kicks off in London tonight
Eurogamer and Alienware’s Street Fighter tournament – which kicked off at Eurogamer Expo back in September – is at the finals stage, and the closing bout takes place in London today. Non-participants can also attend and watch the pros slug it out for a bundle of gaming swag.

Austin: Street Fighter 25th Anniversary tournament this weekend
Street Fighter fans in and around Austin, Texas will be the first to take part in Capcom’s 25th Anniversary tournament series, which boasts a number of popular titles from the fighting franchise’s history. The first round of the touring event runs July 28-29, so if you’re keen to participate get on it, fast – it’s free, although there’s a refundable reservation charge. More details are available on Capcom-Unity, and you can register on the official anniversary website. For those of us stranded elsewhere, there are more events to come – and all the action will be livestreamed.

Street Fighter x Tekken DLC out on GFWL, delayed on Steam
Capcom’s announced the latest round of DLC for Street Fighter x Tekken is now available through Games for Windows Live; however, and “unforeseen error with the Valve submission process,” has caused a delay on the Steam release. Capcom said the ETA on Steam is now “early next week,” Meanwhile, as part of the 25th anniversary celebration of the Street Fighter series, Street Fighter Devotion website has been updated with all sorts of information and goodies. Community and Street Fighter man Seth Killian departing Capcom
Capcom’s Seth Killian has announced he is leaving the firm to pursue other opportunities. For six years, Killiam, the firm’s biggest Street Fighter proponent, was Capcom’s marketing director of online and community and also the co-founder of the annual EVO fighting game tournaments. “I have chosen a new path which will let me embrace a new dream, but to everyone that ever believed in this dream we shared together, let me say this final thanks,” he wrote on Capcom Unity. “I will leave as I began–a Capcom fan for life, looking forward to all the great games still to come.” Killian’s last day is on June 22.

Woah, the Street Fighter franchise is 25 years old? That makes me at lea- never mind. To celebrate the seminal arcade brawler’s major milestone, Capcom has opened a dedicated anniversary site. Head on over to check out a quarter century of history and add your own stories to the collection. The galleries, storyline and tournament sections are well worth a look, and if you feel the need to splurge, the store has more merchandise than you could ever hope to find homes for, including Chun Li sneakers. Yep. Okay maybe I could find a home for those.
