God of War III challenge room DLC “would make a lot of sense”
God of War III director Stig Asmussen’s given a pretty solid hint that the game’s going to have challenge room DLC.
“It would make a lot of sense to be able to download them,” he told GamePro.
“That’s something we might see in the future. So, maybe you’ll see the game ship with a certain amount of challenges on it, then later on, we might put a download pack out with new challenges.
“It’s a good way to keep the series going.”

Sony dev “unsuccessfully” tried to make GOWIII a FPS
We shit you not.
SCEA art director Ken Fieldman has admitted in a chat with CGSociety that he “unsuccessfully” tried to lobby God of War III as a First Person Shooter to game director Stig Asmussen.
“I tried unsuccessfully to convince [Director] Stig to make ‘God of War III’ a first-person shooter”, admitted Fieldman.
“Kratos could have some truly badass huge weapons that rip gods to shreds. Unfortunately he didn’t see the genius in the idea.”
Game is out in March 2010. You can find more through the link.
Thanks, Split-Screen.

Rumour – God of War games being bundled onto Blu-ray, GoW III demo added as well
Colour us interested if true.
According to PSX, God of War and God of War II will be coming to Blu-ray in time for Christmas for the PS3 for anyone who hasn’t played the first games yet, thats if a tweet from a Sony Mexico employee is correct.
Thats all well and good, but whats to stop you from buying both games for the PS2?
Simple – the Blu-ray also contains a demo for God of War III. Earlier this year, a survey went out asking people what they would like to see in a GoW III collectors edition. GoW and GoWII for Blu-ray was one of then options.
Take with a serious pinch of salt as always,
God of War III is out March 2010 for the Playstation 3.

There isn’t a second God of War title in development for PSP. God of War III director Stig Asmussen told 1UP at E3 yesterday.

“I will deny that there’s a new PSP game, but I will say I really hope that something like that will be done, because we saw how well that worked out before.”
That’s that, then.

Stig Asmussen hopes Dante’s Inferno is a threat to God of War III

God of War III’s Stig Asmussen has told CVG that he hopes EA’s upcoming actioner Dante’s Inferno gives God of War III a bit of competition.
“Some of the guys who used to work on GOW are working on Dante’s,” he said. “Really good guys. I hope they make a fantastic game that serves as good competition for us. I think using Dante’s Inferno as a theme could really cook into something special – it is a very rich world to draw from.
“As far as a threat to Kratos goes, I hope so. We need more great games in this genre.”
Other than a few trailers and screens, he had not seen much of the game, but is aware that preliminary thoughts on the title are positive.
Read on through the link to find out more on Kratos’ latest adventure, and why Asmussen called Devil May Cry 4 “Game Developers May Cry”.
Good stuff.

God of War III is “epic conclusion” to series, says Sony
Sony’s called God of War III the “epic conclusion” to the franchise, in a press release put out alongside yesterday’s reveal trailer at the VGAs.
The firm didn’t elaborate on the claim, and it’s probably safe to assume Kratos’s first PS3 adventure isn’t his last, so don’t go panicking just yet.
“We have large shoes to fill following the success of the previously released God of War titles,” said Stig Asmussen, the game’s director.
“But with refined gameplay and jaw-dropping visuals, I guarantee that God of War will give fans what they have been eagerly waiting for, and much more.”
