Star Wars: The Old Republic has gained 2 million new accounts since going free-to-play, according to the latest State of the Game letter from executive producer Jeff Hickman. He also said that “thousands of new players jumping in every single day,” and the MMO’s “high capacity servers are teeming with people.” This spring, the game’s Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion will launch, and a new customization feature giving players more options to change their character’s appearance using Cartel Coins will be released for the MMO sometime this summer. Leaked footage of Star Wars: First Assault has turned up, once again courtesy of Kotaku. The footage shows early gameplay footage purportedly from the fall 2012 build, as well as a video showing a pre-rendered clip. The source who sent the videos to Kotaku stated the gameplay video shows in-game footage with all known issues for the time, and that since the video’s creation, “many improvements have been made in performance, completeness, and quality.” First Assault is a FPS which was slated for a spring 2013 and it was originally outed in late August by a domain name and trademark registration.

Star Wars Pinball arrives on PSN later today in North America and tomorrow in Europe, so Zen Studios though this would be an opportune time to release a couple screenshots and a trailer for The Clone wars table. Get the lot below.

Zen Studios has released a new video for Star Wars Pinball, and it features the Boba Fett table. This particular table will contain several “major moments” in the bounty hunter’s career as such as jobs given by the Galactic Empire and the Hutts. The table contains a spinner featuring Han Solo in Carbonite and the Great Pit of Carkoon featuring the tentacled Sarlacc. Star Wars Pinball is releasing next week on the following platforms: App Store, Google Play, XBL, and PSN with Cross-Buy.

SWTOR executive producer Jeff Hickman has revealed his latest State of the Game report that same-gender romance between players and NPCs on Makeb will be added to the MMO with the Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion, slated for spring. More SGR options will be added “in the future.” The expansion also adds several new systems, five new levels, a large new planet, new storylines, new skills and new abilities. Hickman also noted that the game has seen an increase in player numbers since going free-to-play, and changes to “a special PvP area,” are slated for Update 1.7, and more endgame content and the ability to copy characters to the test server are all on the way. Bioware has announced SWTOR Update 1.6: Ancient Hypergate will launch next week. The update introduces the new Ancient Hypergate Warzone where players will team up to gain control over powerful energy pylons. These pylons can be used to “unleash the power of the ancient Gree hypergate” against one’s enemies. The update will also include six Heroic Space Missions for each faction. Servers will be brought down in the game to apply the update on December 11.

SWTOR’s latest developer blog has been posted, and it provides plenty of details on Update 1.5 – specifically missions pertaining to Section X and HK-51. There’s also plenty of spoilers for character’s in-game storylines, but thankfully players can avoid those by not logging in; thus avoiding anything spolieriffic. SWTOR has a new developer dispatch video available which discusses some of the new content coming with Game Update 1.5: HK-51 Activated. In the video, members of the development team outline some of the missions present in the new Section X area on Belsavis, how players will search the galaxies for clues in order to unlock the HK-51 Companion as their very own Assassin Droid, and more. There’s also a look the final pieces of the Dread Guard gear set and a rare new mount earned by taking on Operation: Explosive Conflict in Nightmare Mode.

Angry Birds and Star Wars are not two things which seem related, but Rovio is teasing something, something, something Dark Side with this teaser shot posted by Joystiq. Also, an Angry Birds Tumblr page has popped up showing an animated version of said screenshots. Could it be a Star Wars themed level for Angry Birds Space? On the Tumblr page, it says to head to Times Square, New York on October 8 at 10am EST – or head to Toys R Us at 8am EST. Maybe it’s a toy, then. At this point, only Rovio knows for sure.

SWTOR update 1.4 files have been dug around in by some industrious types, and it looks as though some more content is on the way according to what was unearthed.
