Retro City Rampage joins forces with Splosion Man

Twisted Pixel has lent its distinctive mascot, Splosion Man, to VBlank’s Retro City Rampage.

The open-world action parody is due on WiiWare and Xbox Live Arcade in early 2012. Check out a trailer through the break, or find out more on the game’s website.

XBLA Triple Pack dated for Europe

The XBLA Triple Pack bundling Limbo, Splosion Man and Trials HD into one physical title has been confirmed for European release.

The pack will launch in Europe on May 13.

No pricing as yet, but the EU version of the pack will include an 8-hour Xbox Live Gold trial and 160 MS Points.

Once thought to be a Japan exclusive, the pack was recently confirmed for US release on April 19, for $29.99.

Splosion Man Avatar Awards revealed, coming soon

Twisted Pixel has revealed the Avatar Awards coming to Splosion Man.

To get these, break your first pane of glass in ‘Splosion Man and complete the entire co-op campaign.

Should you have already pulled both off, the items will automatically unlock and then you can choose between the male and female offerings.

Xbox Live Arcade’s Wednesday game update this week is Twisted Pixel’s Splosion Man: about a guy who constantly blows himself up.

There are 100 levels in all – 50 single, 50 multi – and all this will cost you 800 MS Points.

Microsoft announces dates for Summer of Arcade

Microsoft has finally dated and priced its Summer of Arcade titles – with the exception of The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, which just says Summer 2009.

Without further ado, here’s the list:

  • July 22:  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles- 1200 MS Points ($14.99/£10.20)
  • July 29:  Marvel vs. Capcom 2 – 1200 MS Points ($14.99/£10.20)
  • August 5:  Splosion Man – 800 MS Points ($10.00/£6.80)
  • August 12:  Trials HD – 1200 MS Points ($14.99/£10.20)
  • August 19:  Shadow Complex – 1200 MS Points ($14.99/£10.20)

Summer of Arcade promotion bringing new XBL titles to the service

Following its megaton event at E3 this afternoon, Microsoft has announced that some new Xbox Live Arcade titles will launch this summer.

The Summer of Arcade promotion includes Trials HD, Splosion Man, Monkey Island: Special Edition, TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-shelled and Marvel Vs Capcom 2, with more to be announced.

Exact dates where not provided as of this post, but check back with us for updates.
