Carnage to be released for Ultimate Alliance 2

carnage

Carnage has been revealed as DLC for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 on PS3 and Xbox 360.

The official website for the game has lead animator Adam Olshan chatting a bit about the differences between the character versus Spider-Man, and Venom, citing his viciousness.

“We used the word “vicious” a lot when talking about how he should look. “Crazy” too, because of the background of who he is and what he is. I worked mostly on his basic melee combat,” said Olshan. “That’s when we really pay attention to how we can differentiate that character. Spider-Man needs to be agile & springy. Venom was more of a bruiser, like a huge jungle cat who attacks with lethal clawed swipes.

“For Carnage, we wanted him to feel as quick as Spider-Man, but as dangerous as Venom (or worse). We ended up with a very “slashy” character. Carnage is like a lunatic knife fighter: cutting people up quickly and messily, without much concern for how he looks doing it.”

No word on when this bit of DLC will hit the game, but to tide you over, Kotaku has some screens and video posted of Carnage for your consideration.

Radical seeking designer and programmer for Wii port

prototype2

Radical Entertainment has posted job listings for a designer and programmer familiar with Wii.

The designer must have an “affinity for 3rd Person ‘Open-World’ Camera Design/Functionality”, and the programmer needs to be able to “take game features from concept to execution for a port of a 360/PS3 game to the Wii.”

Talk has it as a possible Wii port of Prototype, but more than likely it’s the Spider-man game rumored to be in development.

Report: Radical working on new Spider-Man game

spidermanfof

According to this Variety report, Radical’s been tasked with creating the next Spider-Man game.

The company’s finishing up on Prototype at the moment, an open-world superhero game. Not really a huge surprise the Acti studio’s getting busy with everyone’s favourite webslinger.

There’s no date. But if Prototype’s apparent quality’s anything to go by, there’s plenty to look forward to.

Spider-Man 4 and another Transformers expected in 2010

transformersaActivison has put High Moon Studios and Radical to task on creating a new Transformers game and Spider-Man 4, respectively, according to a Variety report.

ActiBlizz CEO Bobby Kotick has previously stated that he wants the Transformers franchise to be an annual thing, so this is really no big shock.

According to The Cut Scene, neither game is tied to a movie and both are expected to release sometime in 2010.

This summer, the second Transformers game, Revenge of the Fallen, was developed by Luxoflux and is expected to co-launch with the film.

“You could make a brilliant World of Warcraft movie,” says Spider-Man director

According to MTV, Spider-Man director Sam Raimi has said that a World of Warcraft is an excellent choice for yet another film based around videogames.

“There’s World of Warcraft — what an awesome video game!” he said. “It has such great, adventurous characters in it and such fantastic landscapes and rules… You could make a brilliant World of Warcraft movie — as fine as any of the best superhero movies — if you had the right writers and directors.”

You could make anything great if you had that right people working on it, we reckon.

Intellisponse rumour round-up – lest we forget

laurelandhardy.jpg

Intellisponse, a market research firm, last night got “internetalised” in a rather brutal way, causing a flood of rumours on unannounced games. We’re mindful that some of you don’t have to convince your wives and husbands that writing nonsense about spacemen and pretend cars in the middle of the night is “necessary”, so here’s everything you missed through yesterday evening and early this morning.
