Beenox explains web rush mechanic in latest Amazing Spider-Man video
Activision has released a new video for The Amazing Spider-Man, which details the game’s web rush mechanic. According to the game’s executive producer, Brent Nicholas, web rush allows the player to slow time in order to make strategic choices regarding Spidey’s next move. Once activated, a variety of navigational and combat options can be chosen such as attacking your enemy stealthily from the shadows or just rushing in to provide a beat down. Activision has released a new video for The Amazing Spider-Man which features a look at The Iguana, an Oscorp test subject created by Curt Connors which first appeared in the comic series Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man #32 (1979). Debut trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man swings into the VGAs
Activision released the debut trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man during the VGAs this evening. The video showed rouge Oscorp robots taking over NYC in a very destructive manner, and Spider-Man fighting the metal maniacs as best he can before a massive worm-robot enters the scene. All was shown as though it was being broadcast on the local news, giving the player a third-person perspective on he situation. The Amazing Spider-Man is slated for a summer 2012 launch alongside the film of the same name, and is currently in development at Beenox Studios.

Activision and Beenox have sent over some Spider-Man: Edge of Time screens to go along with the trailer posted earlier. The shots show the roles of both classic, Amazing Spider-Man, and Spider-Man 209as he strives to “correct a timestream gone awry and prevent a catastrophic future brought on by the early and untimely death of Peter Parker.” The game’s set for a fall release.
