OZombie revealed as American McGee’s Wizard of Oz game
OZombie has been revealed by Spicy Horse boss American McGee. It’s a twisted take on The Wizard of Oz, starring a giant mutated hound version of Toto, and a shit-scary Tin Man.

American McGee planning Alice revival and Oz Kickstarters
American McGee, the developer behind Alice and Alice: Madness Returns, has been revealed to be working with his studio Spicy Horse on Kickstarters for a new Alice title and a title based on The Wizard of Oz.

Akaneiro Kickstarter meets funding goal
Akaneiro: Demon Hunters has met its Kickstarter goal of $200,000, netting a further $4,680 in a last minute surge which sent it over the finish line. Hopefully, Spicy Horse will now be able to add the additional features and polishing it asked backers to help fund. Akaneiro was complete prior to the Kickstarter’s launch and is available now after an open beta test. The action RPG is free-to-play and cross-platform.

American McGee apologises for EA “trick” statement
American McGeee has posted an apology on his blog, after stating on Reddit that EA had ‘tricked’ the public into thinking the Spicy Horse game Alice: Madness Returns was a hardcore horror game. McGee has now retracted the statement and apologised to EA.

Akaneiro beta extended through January 22
Akaneiro will remain in open beta until January 22, Spicy Horse has informed us. The developer hopes to continue tweaking the RPG’s gameplay in response to feedback, as its Kickstarter and Greenlight campaigns are likely to bring in waves of new testers. Akaneiro is a free-to-play and cross-platform Diabloesque inspired by Japanese myths and Red Riding Hood; sign up and have a go.

American McGee’s Crazy Fairies: One World now available
Spicy Horse has opened the doors on its Worms-like social offering, Crazy Fairies. Check out the launch trailer for the free-to-play browser and mobile effort through the break; expect quite a lot more of this sort of thing from American McGee’s studio, as they’re making money much, much faster than they could in the triple-A business.
