Daily Challenges are now available for Spelunky on PS3 and Vita. The challenges are already available for the PC version. Each day, a set of levels is generated that has the same seed for everyone playing it, according to Mossmouth. You only get once chance to play the Daily — if you die, you can try it again 24 hours later. The game has also been updated with various bug fixes and optimizations on the console. Spelunky will be released on PC through Steam and GoG next month, according to Mossmouth. It’s the XBLA version of the game which was released in July 2012. It will also be made available on the Humble Store as previously announced. The PS3 and Vita versions are in the works at Blit Game Studios, and will also release this summer. Expect Spelunky PC to arrive on the aforementioned digital services come August 8. Thanks, Eurogamer.

Spelunky’s latest content drop, the Explorers DLC, adds eight new characters for use adventure and deathmatch mode: the Eskimo, the Robot, the Viking, the Round Girl, the Round Boy, the Cyclops, the Ninja and the Golden Monk. Microsoft has updated its Xbox Live content schedule, and the releases kick off today with – as you are already well aware of – Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut, Battlefield 3: Close Quarters, and the Dawnguard DLC for Skyrim. But there are other goodies available such as Haunt for free via Kinect Central, and some on the way – such as Spelunky – so hit the page break and have a look.
