2K has announced the demo, featuring portions of two early chapters in Spec Ops: The Line, is now available on PSN and for Gold members on XBL. All other XBL users can try the demo May 15. UK PSN users should get the demo with the regular update tomorrow. The game is out on June 26 in the US and internationally on June 29 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

2K has said the Gunzerker and Siren classes in Borderlands 2 will be playable at its PAX East booth next week. Players will be able to run around the Pandora Park and Caustic Caverns maps shooting things. Sounds fun. Other 2K-published titles playable in the booth include: Spec Ops: The Line, XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Civilization V: Gods and Kings. The trailer gives you a glimpse of the protagonist of the game and features lots of explosions and action. Looks pretty decent. The ESRB has rated Spec Ops: The Line M for Mature in the US, which is not really shocking, unless a shooter about Spec Ops missions wasn’t a large enough clue for some of us out there. However, apparently, you’ll be able to do more than just shoot people in the face in this game, thus the reason it has “The Line” as a subtitle.

Spec Ops: The Line senior designer Shawn Frison has told RPS that the development team has constantly walked a line between “messed up” and “gore porn,” saying it’s difficult to portray the horror of war without tipping towards gratuity.

2K’s announced on its blog it’ll release the first brand new trailer of Spec Ops: The Line in nearly two years following a dark period for the shooter, first unveiled at the VGA 2009. A raft of hands-on impressions will also go live at the same. To calm the wait, 2K’s released a brand new shot of the game, which you can find here with the rest of the post.
