Edge of Twilight video is beautiful and bit depressing

SouthPeak has released a lovely, but kind of depressing video for Edge of Twilight.
The steampunk adventure is out for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 this summer.
Players will assume the role of an ostracized bounty hunter named Lex who must find his place in a world lorded over by the industrialized Atherns and the spiritual Lithern.
Video is posted on Eurogamer Germany.

Midnight Club LA South Central DLC dated

Rockstar’s put a March 12 date on the previously announced South Central DLC pack for Midnight Club LA.
The booster increases the game’s map size by a third, adds four more neighborhoods and, best of all, is completely free.
Well, a bit of it is, anyway. There’s a premium pack full of news cars and such for 800 MS Points as well.

SouthPeak appoints new managing director of Europe
SouthPeak Games has announced the appointment of Jonathan Hales as the new managing director of European markets, writes GI.
“I am very excited by this new opportunity… and am looking forward to working with SouthPeak. I have followed their growth with interest and see this as a chance to really make a difference in the next stage of their development,” said Hales.
“I know of their great reputation with developers and publishers alike and plan to continue directing the European operation in the same way.”
Good luck to him.

SouthPeak publishes “games for their own merits”
We should hope so too. In this EG interview, SouthPeak CEO Melanie Mroz said it’s not to much the platform that attracts the publisher’s attention than the game itself.
“We prefer to publish games for their own merits, rather than because of the platform that they’re on – there’s still plenty of titles coming up and plenty of money to be made,” she said.
SouthPeak is somewhat resurgent at the moment, seemingly focussing on digital distribution to fill the coffers. The company today announced another title for XBLA, Load Inc.’s Things on Wheels, for release this summer.

Load Inc. XBLA racer for summer
According to this, SouthPeak is to release Load Inc.’s upcoming racer, Things on Wheels, on XBLA this summer.
An “accessible, pure arcade racing title”, it involves driving remote-control cars around the rooms of a house with tracks built up of everyday items. A bit like Micro Machines used to be. But definitely nothing like it at all.
