Microsoft has updated its Xbox SmartGlass app on Android devices with support for 10-inch tablets, an activity browser link, expanded messaging, an awake state, and a more streamlined design. Hit it up on the XBL Marketplace. Via Major Nelson.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge will support Microsoft’s SmartGlass application when it launches on Xbox 360. This will allow users to pull up statistical information on their phones or tablet, and will sync to YouTube allowing users to browse video walkthroughs and tutorials. The second seasons of both Kinect Sesame Street TV and Kinect Nat Geo TV are available now on the US side of Xbox Live. The interactive TV shows are available as individual episodes for 400 MS Points or in full seasons for 2400 MS Points. Kinect Sesame Street TV has been enhanced with SmartGlass functionality this season, so you can create playlists of your favourite moments.

Peter Molyneux may have just launched Curiosity: What’s Inside the Cube? on smartphone and tablets this week, but he’s not convinced by the way tablet devices are being used by Wii U and via Xbox SmartGlass. He reckons it’s a case of tech guys running wild with ideas without thinking of the logistics.

FIFA 13 on Wii U will come with a host of GamePad features that could just as easily transfer over to Xbox SmartGlass, and as it happens, EA is currently having a chat over the matter.

According to VentureBeat, Xbox executive Don Mattrick mentioned during a GamesBeat panel that Halo 4 “will work with” Microsoft’s recently-revealed tablet, Surface. No details were given but the platform holder has said that all first-party games will include SmartGlass functionality so you can probably expect something of that ilk. Halo 4 is due exclusively on Xbox 360 in November.

The image through the break was provided by VG247 forum member, Moonwalker1982, and appears to show new Ubisoft IP Watch Dogs being interacted with via a tablet computer. The image shows a map on the tablet screen while Watch Dogs features on a standard TV screen and could perhaps offer a glimpse of the kind of thing we could expect from Microsoft’s SmartGlass app. Microsoft is making an announcement tonight at 6:30pm EST, which is widely expected to concern its own range of tablet PCs.

Marc Whitten, the head of Xbox Live, took to the stange to announce Xbox Smart Glass which connects your tablets, phones, and console together. It was rumored earlier this week. A demo showing how you can send a movie from your tablet to your Xbox and pick up where you left off on your 360 was shown.
