Siliconera has dug up a bunch of concept art for something called Battlefront Online. The site claims Slant Six was working on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game in 2010, but it was cancelled before announcement; contemporary rumours told the same story. There are no further details on the lost project, which is distinct from the recent headline favourite Battlefront 3, Free Radical’s shelved effort. See the art through the break.

Just a minor heads up that Slant Six released a title update for Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City late last week. On its own it’s not hellishly interesting but the patch comes just as the developer confirmed significant temporary lay-offs – which may suggest the patch was the final contractual obligation between Slant Six and Capcom. Plus, matchmaking fixes have arrived at last. There are limited patch notes available on Capcom Unity should you fancy delving into the nitty gritties.

According to a Sony Europe PSN release schedule obtained by videogaming247.com, SOCOM Confrontation will be available to download from PlayStation Network on the 5th of February.
The much sort after shooter slipped to “early 2009” back in November.
No price is forthcoming at this time.
We can only assume that a boxed version of the game will be released within the same time period.
