Croteam is offering 50% discounts on the Xbox 360 versions of Serious Sam 3: BFE, DLC expansion Serious Sam 3: Jewel of the Nile, Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter, and Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter until December 24. Each is now only 600 MS Points, and the franchise’s Facebook and Twitter pages are offering regular opportunities to win free copies, too. Majesco has announced that Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter has hit Xbox Live Arcade today.

The XBLA version of Serious Sam HD has “got the ‘ol bumperooski to January,” according to Digital Devolver’s Twitter.

The PC version’s already been released – buy it here for a tenner – and Second Encounter’s already been announced for next year.

Guess you just have to wait a little to shoot 15 billion monsters in the face on flat plains, Xbox people.

CDV has announced that Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter will be shown at PAX 2009.

An new PC game from the firm will also be shown, and while CDV refused to name it, the mailer did call it a “high profile” game.

Also of note, is that designer Marc Ecko will be at the CDV booth on Saturday, September 5, signing limited-edition Ecko brand t-shirts created specifically for this year’s expo.

During the signings, several DS systems will be given away to commemorate Ecko’s collaboration in the development of CDV’s new puzzler, I Heart Geeks.
