MTV expected higher sales for The Beatles: Rock Band

MTV Games general manager Scott Guthrie has said that The Beatles: Rock Band didn’t sell as well in Europe as the company had hoped, but in the end, it’s still pleased with how it did.

Ex THQ VP now MTV Games exec VP

Ex THQ executive vice president of publishing, Scott Guthrie, was named MTV Games’ new executive vice president and general manager earlier today.
“With our acquisition of Harmonix to our relationship with Jerry Bruckheimer Games, Inc., MTV Games has quickly risen to become one of the top five video gaming publishers,” said network president Van Toffler.
“We’re going after the best in music video gaming with Rock Band and the best in story telling with our Bruckheimer partnership, and now we have the best leaders and team in place to bring MTV Games to the next level and grow through the next evolution in video games.”

Scott Guthrie resigns as VP of Publishing for THQ

THQ has announced that Scott Guthrie, executive vice president of publishing, has resigned to pursue other opportunities.
This led CEO Brian Farrell to issue a standard reply via press release:
“THQ has a deep and experienced global sales and marketing team and we continue to execute on our focused product strategy. We wish Scott well in his future endeavors.”
Guthrie was previously in charge of overseeing North America sales, distribution, and marketing.
No word on where he has landed.
