Nvidia has announced the GeForce GTX 680, formerly known by the codeaname Kepler, which the firm is calling the “fastest GPU [and] world’s most power efficient.” It’s the same graphics card Unreal Engine’s Samaritan tech demo was running on at GDC.

Next-generation launch titles would probably be best off holding off on using Unreal Engine 4 and using the current version of Epic’s engine, the company’s Vice President Mark Rein has said.

Epic has confirmed its amazing Samaritan Unreal tech demo isn’t just a pretty, pre-rendered cut scene - you can interact with it just like a game.

After dropping enough jaws to cause a minor seismic event during last week’s GDC, Epic’s been unsurprisingly inundated with questions. Question numero uno? “Gee willikers golly goodness gosh, will we ever be able to play that?”

During a GDC behind-closed-doors session earlier today, Epic’s Mark Rein blew the lid off a new, next-gen focused version of Unreal 3. Yes, next-gen. And he was abundantly clear about it: this stuff won’t run on current consoles. Bar, you’ve just been raised.
