Angry Birds Trilogy to release on PS3, 360, 3DS around the holidays
Rovio has announced the Angry Birds Trilogy Activision teased during E3 will is being revamped for HDTV’s for Ps3 and Xbox 360, the firm’s EVP of game Petri Järvilehto has said. It is also coming to 3DS. “You can think of the game as the ultimate collector’s edition,” he told IGN. “There are new cinematics, extras and other entertaining content. In addition all of the existing material has been uprezzed and re-treated for the high-resolution and big screen.” The collection will include Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio on one disc or 3DS cartridge. It will also support Kinect. Mobe, and StreetPass for each respective system. Expect it to land around the holidays.

Rovio considering Dublin move to take advantage of tax breaks, says CEO
Rovio CEO Mikael Hed has said the firm is considering moving its headquarters from Finland to Dublin in order to take advantage of Ireland’s 12.5% tax rate. Speaking with the Irish Times, Hed said the tax rate is a plus in the country’s favor, as Finland’s current rate is 24%. Currently, the firm employs a staff of 400 in Finland, and Hed said an Irish studio could also end up manufacturing Angry Birds, and other titles the firm is working on. and other new games they have created. “We are considering [Ireland,] said Hed. “It is something that we need to look at. For now we have stayed in Finland. But it is on top of our minds.”

Angry Birds Space hits 100 million downloads in 76 days
Rovio has announced Angry Birds Space has been downloaded over 100 million times in the 76 days its been available. Back in May, the firm revealed in its financial reports the series has a whole had been downloaded over 1 billion times.

Angry Birds Facebook beta concludes, now play as Angry Bird Friends
Rovio has announced Angry Birds on Facebook has left beta. Angry Birds Friends now includes a tournament mode, new weekly levels, and more ways to earn power-ups. Weekly tournaments last from Monday to Sunday allowing folks to compete with friends on four different levels. The best overall score will earn a gold trophy, with silver and bronze for second and third place in four new levels every week, available exclusively in tournament mode. Players can also earn power-ups through tournament mode, and earn three power-ups bundles for a gold trophy, two for silver, and one for bronze. Players also get a power-up for each tournament level they play, and one for participating in the tournament. Go hit it up now.

Rovio acquires Casey’s Contraptions IP, new title releasing this summer
Rovio has acquired the rights to the Casey’s Contraptions IP from Snappy Touch and Mystery Coconut, and the firm will release a new game in the series this summer. The original iPad title has been removed from the App Store. The new physics-based puzzler will be the first title from the developer that’s not Angry Birds-centric, and upon release the game will initially launch on iOS and Android before extending to other platforms. Report: Rovio turned down $2 billion takeover from Zynga
Bloomberg‘s reporting that Rovio turned down a $2 billion takeover from Zynga. The piece, which takes a look at its acquisition and merger practices, cites sources familiar with the matter. No word on when the offer was made is mentioned in the article, however. Rovio has said its looking at an IPO for sometime next year, while Zynga recently bought Draw Everything studio OMGPop for $180 million.

Rovio to launch new Swedish studio this year
Rovio’s announced it’ll open a brand new studio in Sweden later this year. The Angry Birds outfit is looking to hold 20-30 employees at the venue near Stockholm, with a search already underway for a general manager. Rovio also has locations in Tampere, Finland and in Shanghai.

Angry Birds Space hits 10 million downloads in first three days, confirms Rovio
Angry Birds Space was downloaded 10 million times in its first three days, Rovio has said. It said in a tweet: “10 million Angry Birds Space downloads in less than 3 days! Thanks to our fans, stay tuned for more!”
The title launched on iOS, Android, Mac and PC last week, with a Windows Phone 7 version coming soon at some point.
