Ron Gilbert’s The Cave coming to Wii U eShop
DoubleFine’s Greg Rice said at PAX this weekend that Ron Gilbert platforming adventure The Cave will be released on the the Wii U eShop. The game’s also coming to PC, PSN and XBLA in early 2013. Watch a trailer below.

Details on Ron Gilbert’s Double Fine game, The Cave, have come to light, and as artwork teases have previously hinted, the game stars seven characters: the adventurer, a hillbilly, a knight, the monk, the time-traveler, the scientist, and twins.

Ron Gilbert teases more artwork for new Double Fine project
Ron Gilbert’s posted a few bits of art connected to his next game, the first since he joined Double Fine. The first bit features a monk, while the second features a hillbilly that appeared on the jigsaw puzzle sent out a while back. Sounds like the reveal will be an E3 affair.

Double Fine accepting PayPal donations, releases episode one in documentary series
Double Fine has released A Perfect Storm for Adventure, the first episode of its documentary series titled which gives you a look at the beginnings of its Kickstarter fundraiser. The firm has also opened up a PayPal account in case you missed out on donating to the Double Fine Adventure the first time out. Those who donate will receive access to the forums, code to download the game on Steam for PC or Mac as well as for Linux or Android. You will also be able to participate in the beta and receive streaming video of the firm’s 2Player Productions documentary series. Watch the first episode below.

Double Fine sent out press invites to have a look at Ron Gilbert’s new game, and the invite was a puzzle, that when assembled provides, the first look at his new title. Have a look at the fully assembled puzzle below, courtesy of Game Informer. No date just yet on Gilbert’s game, nor the Double Fine Adventure game, which are two separate works.

Gilbert shows off art for Double Fine collaboration
Deathspank creator Ron Gilbert’s shown off two pieces of concept art from his upcoming, unannounced game. The art, which consists of a female doctor and a man in a suit, comes from a collaboration being made at Double Fine with Gilbert’s old Monkey Island partner, Tim Schafer. Posting on his website Grumpy Gamer, Gilbert said the game comes from “an idea that has been in my head for a long, long, long time,” since before Monkey Island. More news on it “will follow later.”
