Deep Silver and Piranha Bytes have released the fifth episode of its six part making-of series for Risen 2, which lays out the different fighting options in the game. It also explains how fighting is just one of the options, and how different styles – such as avoiding the fight altogether – can solve in-game quests just as much as brawn. Players will be able to sheath their swords and in its stead use voodoo to accomplish their goals, and even a few dirty tricks here and there. It’s all very interesting and detailed in the video diary below. Risen 2 is set for release in the UK April 27 on PC and May 25 on PS3 and Xbox 360.

If having a demented ship doctor named Bones in the game wasn’t enough to make you want Risen 2, maybe fighting off a Kraken will finally sway you. The fact you can wear an eye patch sold me on it back when it was announced, so a Kraken attacking your ship just made the deal sweeter for this gal. You can see the ocean beast yourself rather briefly in the video below. Risen 2 is set for release in the UK April 27 on PC and May 25 on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Let’s just say he’s massive and formidable looking.

Growing up in the village of Earthclan, she despises the expansion plans of the Inquisition as much as the pirates which have invaded her home, thus, she’s using her voodoo powers to protect her people from the invaders. During his travels in the game, our nameless hero will meet Chani who will find herself torn between “seeing the nameless hero as a threat to her and her people” or finding that he is her only hope to stop the evil from spreading.
