Metroid: Retro Studios might return to series one day, no current plans
Metroid Prime developer Retro Studios would love to return to the series that put it on the map, but it isn’t currently working on a new game in the series. That said, studio CEO Michael Kelbaugh isn’t ruling anything out.

Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze: Retro Studios explains why it opted for sequel
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze developer Retro Studios has explained to Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime why it decided to make a sequel to Donkey Kong Country Returns. Basically, they reckon there’s a lot more cool stuff they can do.

Another Retro Studios staff member joins Armature Studio
Donkey Kong Country Returns designer Tom Ivey has joined Armature, a company founded by former Retro Studios staff members. According to Ivey’s LinkedIn page, he left Retro Studios after 9 years in March 2013. The studio is working on Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate at the moment, and is slated for release on 3DS later this year alongside the console version. Thanks, Nintendo Life.

‘Retro Studios qualified to make Zelda game’, says Miyamoto
The Legend of Zelda franchise could theoretically be entrusted to Metroid Prime developer Retro Studios, Shigeru Miyamoto has stated. The Nintendo exec has discussed the value of the studio and its compatibility with the Zelda brand.

Metroid Star Fox crossover rumour put to rest
Remember that thing about a Star Fox and Metroid game for Wii U? Yeah, apparently that’s not actually a thing after all. According to the Paul Gale Network, which broke the rumour, the crossover was never anything more than a proposal. So what is Retro Studios actually doing? Perhaps we’ll find out at the expected Wii U extravaganza of E3 2012.
