New Alan Wake footage is GO!

alanwake2

GT has live some new footage of Alan Wake, which shows him trying to out-run the cops.

It does look good, which is why you need to see it after the jump. It’s an extended version of the footage shown the other day on GTTV.

They also have a full playthrough of the level that writer Sam Lake was talking about back in August. That is also after the jump.

The game is out in spring 2010 – possibly May – for the Xbox 360. PC version is MIA.

Remedy: We could have released Alan Wake “much earlier”

alanwake4

Alan Wake could have been released “much earlier”.

That is what Remedy’s Matias Mylllyrinne said in a recent episode of EGTV, showcasing the game. Mylllyrinne also confirmed the game has been in development since 2005.

“It’s been since 2005 so it’s – we’ve be crafting this thing and for us I mean we could’ve put something out much earlier to be honest, and it would’ve been probably okay.

“But for us, we only want to come out with a game when we have something to say and a point to make so when gamers put down their hard earned cash on a game the Remedy brand on that box needs to be a seal of quality so they’re getting a certain movie like experience with good story and a good character.

That really is key for us.”

Game is out in spring 2010 for Xbox 360.

Remedy: We can’t tell you anything about Alan Wake

alanwakee2b

In an interview with Norwegian site, Gamer.no, Remedy Games’ head of franchise development Oskari Häkkinen has revealed to he can’t say anything about Alan Wake. Not a smidgeon.

“I can not tell you anything about Alan Wake right now, not even progress on Alan Wake,” he said.

What he did say however, was that a comparison to Silent Hill was justified, meaning that the game will be heavy on atmosphere, story and puzzle-solving. Although he was quick to add there will be no zombies in Alan Wake. Shame.

Alan Wake was announced in 2005 for PC and Xbox 360.

Remedy: You will see something interesting when the time is right

alanwakee1b.jpg

Remedy Games got in touch this morning to tell videogaming247 that with regards to Alan Wake, we can expect to see something “interesting” but only “when the time is right.”

“Yeah, I think we will see something interesting,” said Remedy to VG247 when we asked if there was something new to report. “[We] will be looking at our schedules and sorting interviews etc. out when the time is right.”

However, GDC 09 might be “a little too early”, the developer confirmed. We’re keeping our fingers crossed.

Alan Wake was announced to some fanfare back in 2005. Since then, however, information has been rather thin on the ground.

However, last year, Remedy released some cool looking footage and images.

Earlier that same month, Remedy explained that the reason the psychological thriller is taking so long is because there is only a small development team at work on the game.

Alan Wake is expected sometime this year for Xbox 360, and going by the above quote it seems we might know more very soon.
