Trials Evolution: Gold Edition is now available for digital download on PC and is free to try at the moment. The game will also go on sale through Steam May 9 through May 13 for 25% off. The gold Edition of the game includes all of the features included in previous formats, such as the in-game editor, global Leader Boards and multiplayer modes. Download the demo through Steam now.

Trials Evolution follows in its precursor’s treads by including a heck of a riddle, which some very clever detective work has already begun unraveling.

The “end of the world” is almost upon us and to celebrate Red Lynx has put together a hefty DLC pack for Trials Evolution called Riders of Doom. The 400 MS Point pack is available now and includes new tracks, one new bike, additional editor options and more. Preview the new content in the double trailer feature through the break.

Trials Evolution – Riders of Doom, the second DLC pack for the XBL game has been announced. It will arrive during December for 400 MS Points. It contains 40 new tracks set in the new Big Sand Lands environment, which was inspired by the end of the world. A powerful motorbike dubbed the Banshee will also be added to the garage. The new downloadable content will also feature “hundreds of new editor objects expanding the already robust level editor.” Ten brand new Skill Games, including an endless series of “generated extreme obstacles” will also be added. A title update for Trials Evolution will be released tomorrow via the usual XBL Update. RedLynx will also be clearing off the multiplayer leaderboards, in order to make sure everything remains “fair and valid”. Single-player and custom-made track leaderboards will remain unaffected.

Ubisoft has announced Trials Evolution has sold 500,000 units since its April 18 launch, when it set a record for selling 100,000 copies day one. Ubisoft has said the title has “great multiplatform potential for RedLynx brands,” with CEO Yves Guillemot stating the developer is poised to bring in “big multiplatform digital revenue potential.” On its financial call to investors yesterday, Ubisoft announced Assassin’s Creed: Revelations has shipped 7.2 million units with Driver: San Francisco and Rayman Origins shipping 2 million each. RedLynx managing director Tero Virtala feels Trials Evolution sold over 100,000 copies on Xbox Live Arcade day-one was due to the game’s competitiveness instead of the “masochism” of trial-and-error gameplay.

At least 100,000 players were attempting to access Trials Evolution’s online servers at launch on Wednesday, developer RedLynx has said. That resulted in issues regarding multiplayer ranks and leaderboards. Its said in a tweet, however, that Microsoft has added new hardware that fixes the problems. Trials Evolution, according to Microsoft, has set a record for the highest grossing day-one sales in Xbox Live Arcade history. No figures were provided.

A listing for Trials Evolution popped up on Xbox Marketplace before being pulled, but not before a release date of April 18 was noted and screened by Eurogamer. RedLynx’s racing platformer will contain online multiplayer between 2-4 players, leaderboards, and voice chant when it lands April 18 releases. The latest trailer for it was posted earlier this month.

RedLynx’s released a new trailer of Trials Evolution, days after an unfinished build of the game leaked online. The video shows the basic aspects, as well as multiplayer and its creation tool that allows you to make anything you want. Pinball? Boom. Table football? B to the double O M. Even a first-person shooter? Fucking boom in your face.
